The Origins of Agent 66 in Agent Kim Reactivated Episode 4
Agent Kim Reactivated episode 4 opens with a flashback to 1997 at Geumgang Orphanage in North Hamgyong Province, North Korea. Major Ri Eung-ryeong visits the orphanage to recruit children for military training.
Park Yeong-gwang volunteers first, encouraging several other children to follow. However, the recruits must fight each other to earn a place in the program. Only Park Yeong-gwang and another boy, Kim, survive the brutal selection.

The military then sends the children to a harsh training camp. There, instructors beat and condition them until they forget their own names and identities. The trainees later become known only by numbers. As the years pass, Numbers 66 and 73 emerge as the program’s strongest operatives. The organization trains them to infiltrate South Korea and carry out covert missions.
Eventually, both agents cross the border during an operation in Gangwon Province. During the mission, an explosion caused by dynamite seemingly kills Number 66, while Number 73 survives. North Korea later brands Number 73 a traitor and accuses him of murdering his partner. A brief flashback also reveals that Number 66 left behind a younger brother named Gang Seong.
The Search Continues
The story returns to the present as Han-su and Mr. Kim continue fighting the new Number 66. Before the battle escalates further, the laundromat owner intervenes after spotting the assassin earlier in the parking area.
The laundromat owner urges Mr. Kim to surrender. However, Mr. Kim asks for enough time to rescue Min-ji before turning himself in. While Han-su follows Mr. Kim, the new Number 66 takes the opportunity to attack the remaining intelligence agents.
Back at the bunker, Mr. Kim treats his gunshot wound before Park Jin-cheol arrives. Despite his loud and unpredictable personality, Jin-cheol immediately joins the mission. The trio travels to Hwasin Station to question the homeless man who found Min-ji’s phone. Meanwhile, agents from the Special Missions Directorate continue tracking their every move.
The homeless man explains that a Golden Teeth Gang member with a man bun threw Min-ji’s phone from a white BMW into a trash bin. Soon after, the story follows the same white BMW as it heads toward Myeongpo Port. At the same time, a weather forecast warns that a powerful storm will arrive the following night.
Using the bunker’s surveillance equipment, Mr. Kim and his allies identify the gang member as Kim Sang-man, giving them another valuable lead.
A Race Against Time
Meanwhile, members of the Golden Teeth Gang discuss how they should report the situation to Mr. Ju. During their conversation, one henchman jokingly offers Golden Teeth a large potato, triggering an angry outburst.
The episode then shifts to 2009 and reveals Golden Teeth’s past. At the time, he belonged to another gang that violently attacked residents protesting a redevelopment project. His own boss later threw him off a rooftop so the incident could be used to justify rebuilding the area.
Golden Teeth survives the fall and eventually murders his boss to seize control of the gang. Before dying, the boss reveals that Mr. Ju ordered the attack.
Soon after, Mr. Ju arranges a meeting with Golden Teeth. Their followers clash before the confrontation becomes personal. Mr. Ju easily overpowers Golden Teeth, slices his jaw with a knife, and forces hot potatoes into his mouth. Golden Teeth begs for mercy, and the incident explains how he later earned his signature golden teeth.
Back in the present, the gang transports Min-ji inside a sack to a cold storage facility at Myeongpo Port. A supervisor briefly discovers the body before leaving. At the same time, Mole Cricket destroys Mr. Kim’s vehicle with an explosion. Despite the setback, Mr. Kim completes the phone trace. The episode then reveals that Min-ji is still alive as she slowly climbs out of the sack.
Mole Cricket calls out the trio, leading Han-su to confront him with both taunts and attacks. Meanwhile, Mr. Kim takes control of Mole Cricket’s vehicle. Mole Cricket escapes by jumping into the water, and Han-su immediately dives in after him. Jin-cheol then remains behind to fight the remaining Special Missions Directorate agents.
