Woo-su’s Trauma in the Past in Absolute Value of Romance Episode 7
Absolute Value of Romance episode 7 opens with Eui-ju reading comments on her latest chapter. She assumes Woo-su would ignore them. However, she quickly learns otherwise. Woo-su reads the comments too. He realizes she tricked him by publishing the version he rejected.
The next morning, Da-ju tries to recruit Woo-su for the school documentary. Woo-su ignores him. As a result, Da-ju, Dong-ju, and Gi-jeon grow anxious about their jobs. At school, the principal announces the filming to the students. Moreover, she continues to pressure Woo-su to participate. When he resists, she turns to Da-ju. She orders him to make sure Woo-su’s Math class gets filmed, no matter what.
Da-ju takes a risky route and pressures Eui-ju and plays on her fear. Furthermore, he threatens to expose her secret. Left with no choice, she agrees to secretly film Woo-su during class.

Elsewhere, the principal handles other obstacles. She drugs her nephew, E-den, to stop his flute playing from interrupting the shoot. In addition, she asks Ji-a to leave the classroom and study alone to protect the school’s image. Woo-su refuses to stay silent. He confronts the principal and defends Ji-a. Moreover, he warns her that he will pull his entire class from the filming if she isolates Ji-a.
Filming begins despite the tension. Da-ju pressures Eui-ju again, and she starts recording. During class, Eui-ju asks Woo-su a personal question. She wants to know why a brilliant mathematician like him chose Murim High School.
Woo-su begins to answer. He opens up about his path as a teacher. However, he soon notices the camera. The realization hits him hard and stops immediately. He confronts Eui-ju for filming him without consent, then storms out of the room.
Eui-ju follows him and reveals the truth. She blames Da-ju for forcing her into the situation. Woo-su then turns his anger toward Da-ju. He accuses him of betrayal. Moreover, he brings up a painful incident from his past, showing how deeply this breach of trust affects him.
The Principal Blackmailed Woo-su
Elsewhere, the principal calls Woo-su to her office. At the same time, Gi-jeon opens up to Eui-ju. He reveals Woo-su’s past. As a child, a stalker kidnapped him. Moreover, the captor filmed him without consent. That experience caused his deep trauma around cameras.
Eui-ju starts to feel a sharp stomachache. However, she brushes it off and keeps going. In the office, the principal raises the stakes. She threatens to fire Dong-ju, who cannot afford to lose his job. Woo-su faces a tough choice. Eventually, he gives in. He agrees to join the documentary to protect Dong-ju.

Meanwhile, the students grow frustrated. They blame Woo-su for making them stay after class for filming. Once the crew wraps up, Principal Kim Young-hee finally relaxes. Elsewhere, E-den wakes up and complains. He feels upset that he missed the chance to play his flute.
Later that night, Eui-ju approaches Woo-su. She apologizes for filming him without permission. Woo-su responds calmly but firmly. He admits disappointment, not just anger. Furthermore, he points out that she only spoke up in class because Da-ju forced her.
His words hit hard and Eui-ju feels shaken. In addition, her stomach pain worsens. She struggles to stand. Soon after, she collapses. She clutches her stomach and breaks into a sweat. The episode ends with her in distress.
Episode 7 of Absolute Value of Romance feels closer to Woo-su. It is shocking to learn the reason behind his hostile behavior when filming is involved. As it turns out that it is not as simple as it seems. It is true that no one can understand another person’s struggles unless they choose to share them.
