Woo-su Helps Ji-a in Absolute Value of Romance Episode 11 Recap
Absolute Value of Romance episode 11 opens with Eui-ju joining Woo-su and Dong-ju during their conversation. She cannot stop thinking about the possibility of Woo-su leaving for Harvard. Moreover, she worries about her grades if her strict Math teacher moves away.
Woo-su refuses to discuss the topic. Later, Eui-ju returns home and continues overthinking. She wonders about Woo-su’s connection with Deul-i and struggles to understand her growing feelings for him.
The next day, Woo-su notices that Ji-a is absent once again. Concerned, Eui-ju visits her orphanage after school. There, the warden tells her that Ji-a is currently at work. By chance, Eui-ju runs into Woo-su. The two decide to look for Ji-a together. Their search leads them to a fast-food restaurant. However, the owner reveals that Ji-a already quit. She recently took a higher-paying job at another restaurant.
When Eui-ju and Woo-su find her, they witness a troubling scene. Several older men pressure Ji-a to drink alcohol in exchange for extra tips. Shocked, Eui-ju quickly pulls her outside and scolds her for putting herself in danger. Moments later, the situation worsens. Two gangsters approach Ji-a and demand repayment of a debt. They grab her and try to intimidate her.
Woo-su immediately steps in. He pays off the debt and refuses to let the men take advantage of Ji-a. Furthermore, he forces them to record a video confirming that she no longer owes them anything. Ji-a feels grateful and promises to repay him someday. However, Woo-su dismisses the idea. Instead, he tells her to focus on attending school and building a better future.
On the way back to the orphanage, Ji-a opens up about her situation. She explains that she does not trust the police because another girl once reported a similar incident and later got kicked out. In addition, she reveals that she has been saving money to survive after aging out of the orphanage at eighteen.
Later, Eui-ju praises Woo-su for helping Ji-a. She also brings up Harvard again. This time, Woo-su gives a clear answer. He says that his main priority is teaching his students well.
Teachers to the Rescue
The next morning, Ji-a arrives at school before the assembly. Her appearance immediately lifts Eui-ju’s spirits. Meanwhile, Jennie returns from her field trip and hands out gifts to her friends.
Ji-a warmly thanks her, which makes Jennie happy. However, Go-ya refuses the treats. Her cold reaction worries Eui-ju and highlights the growing distance between them. Later, during PE class, Gi-jeon asks the students to shoot a basket. Go-ya misses her shot. Eui-ju quickly explains that her friend has an elbow problem. However, Gi-jeon brushes off the explanation and continues the lesson.
Jennie notices the tension and decides that someone needs to step in before the situation gets worse. After school, a serious crisis unfolds. Jennie spots several gangsters forcing Ji-a into a car. She immediately sends a message to the group chat.
Eui-ju sees the message and reacts without hesitation. She informs Woo-su and asks for help. Furthermore, she rushes to the staff room and seeks assistance from Gi-jeon. Meanwhile, the gangsters take Ji-a to a loan shark’s office. They claim she still owes money despite the previous settlement and demand additional payment.
Woo-su arrives and tries to resolve the situation peacefully. However, Ji-a refuses to let him pay another cent on her behalf. The confrontation quickly turns violent. The gangsters attack Woo-su and overpower him. Within moments, they knock him unconscious.
Elsewhere, Gi-jeon gathers Dong-ju, Da-ju, and Eui-ju. He drives them to Ji-a’s location as fast as possible. When they arrive, Eui-ju freezes in shock. She sees Woo-su lying injured after trying to protect Ji-a.
The episode ends as Gi-jeon, Dong-ju, and Da-ju step forward to confront the gangsters. Meanwhile, Eui-ju struggles to process the sight of Woo-su hurt because of his efforts to save one of his students.
Episode 11 of Absolute Value of Romance delivers one of the most emotional and intense storylines of the series so far. The episode does an excellent job of highlighting Ji-a’s struggles while showcasing Woo-su’s compassion beyond the classroom. Eui-ju’s growing admiration for Woo-su also feels natural, adding depth to their developing relationship. The cliffhanger ending raises the stakes and leaves viewers eager to see what happens next.
