Agent Kim’s Hidden Past in Agent Kim Reactivated Episode 2

Agent Kim Reactivated episode 2 begins with a flashback to 2008 at the Cheonsan Unit in Gangwon Province. Mr. Kim receives a mission from his superior to eliminate Deputy Director Kim Jeong-seon, a hard-line figure from South Korea’s General Bureau of Intelligence.

Deputy Director Kim had been responsible for the deaths of secret operatives involved in inter-Korean peace discussions. The media later reports that a North Korean soldier carried out his assassination.

Soon after completing his mission, Agent Kim rushes to the hospital for the birth of his child. However, his wife passes away after giving birth to their daughter, Min-ji. Before her death, she asks him to leave his old life behind and focus on raising their daughter. The story returns to the present, where Agent Kim points a gun at his former boss and demands his discharge. His boss accepts his request, allowing him to leave his life as an operative behind.

The episode then shows how Agent Kim transforms into Mr. Kim, a devoted father who spends his days caring for Min-ji and putting her happiness first. Additional flashbacks reveal the truth behind the message Min-ji received from Nam-hoon. A group of thugs corners Nam-hoon and steals his phone before sending the message themselves.

Believing she is meeting Nam-hoon, Min-ji goes to the agreed location. However, she finds Hye-ri, her bullies, and the thugs waiting for her instead. The group attacks Min-ji one after another, but she refuses to give up and fights back. Despite her efforts, Hye-ri eventually overpowers her and knocks her unconscious.

The Search for Min-ji

Meanwhile, Mr. Kim returns home and prepares for Min-ji’s birthday. While he focuses on celebrating with his daughter, one of the thugs warns the bullies not to reveal what happened and takes away their phones.

The thug then approaches his boss, Oh Min-cheol from the Golden Teeth Gang, and asks for help in dealing with Min-ji. The same man who appeared at Mr. Ju’s office earlier also happens to be at Min-cheol’s location and overhears their conversation. He decides to help Hye-ri by taking Min-ji away in the trunk of his car.

The man secretly records Hye-ri offering him money to make the incident disappear. During the drive, he casually talks about disposing of Min-ji’s body and warns Hye-ri to keep everything hidden from her father.

The episode then returns to the final scene from episode 1, where the thug pretends not to know Min-ji’s location when questioned. After returning home, Mr. Kim imagines that Min-ji is still there with him. He later arrives late at work, leaving Sang-a worried as she tries to contact him without success.

Determined to find his daughter, Mr. Kim prepares himself for a confrontation with Oh Min-cheol and anyone involved in Min-ji’s disappearance. The next scene introduces Min-cheol and a group of loan sharks threatening a man who failed to repay his debt. Their contract contains a disturbing clause stating that the borrower must surrender his family’s organs if he misses the payment deadline.

The loan sharks take the man’s daughter away for organ harvesting. However, their plan is interrupted when someone arrives at the door. Mr. Kim appears, searching for Min-cheol. A brutal fight breaks out between him and the loan sharks. Using his combat skills, Mr. Kim defeats them and saves the young girl just in time. Although Min-cheol escapes, Mr. Kim leaves him seriously injured after attacking him with thin wires.

Mr. Kim Becomes a Target in Agent Kim Reactivated Episode 2

Han-su, the taekwondo instructor, ends up in prison after Jin-cheol’s fight at the diner. He demands his release and asks Jin-cheol to help defend his case. Meanwhile, the laundromat owner living below Mr. Kim’s home discovers the diner fight video online, which has quickly gone viral.

The attention surrounding the video soon reaches the North Korean Media Surveillance Room at the General Bureau of Intelligence. A researcher identifies Mr. Kim in the footage and labels him a Tier One threat.

The officials discuss bringing Mr. Kim back, but they decide to delay their plans until after the upcoming inter-Korean peace talks. Although the negotiations are only a month away, the Comrade Director General disagrees with waiting.

After the meeting, the director expresses his frustration and mentions that only someone like Park Yeong-gwang could capture Mr. Kim, also known as Number 66. He reveals that Mr Kim once defeated an entire platoon alone, but Park Yeong-gwang is now dead. However, his younger brother remains active in the military and possesses similar skills.

Back in South Korea, the Special Missions Directorate grows concerned after learning that Mr. Kim has returned to action. A woman reports on Park Jin-cheol’s connection with Mr. Kim and later shares details about the diner incident.

The person receiving the information is Kang Guk-cheol, the director of the Special Missions Directorate, who uses the codename Mole Cricket. The woman also informs him about North Korea’s movements following Agent Kim’s reactivation.

The Search for Answers

Mr. Kim continues his investigation by interrogating Oh Min-cheol and forcing him to reveal information. He learns that lower-level criminals like Min-cheol communicate through temporary Telegram group chats. Once their tasks are complete, the members delete the conversations and remove the group. Min-cheol confidently claims that the law will go easy on him because he is a minor.

However, Mr. Kim threatens him with a gun, causing Min-cheol to admit that he is actually over 20 years old, unlike the others involved. At that moment, his phone receives a message ordering him to make sure the group stays silent.

Mr. Kim calls the sender, but no one answers. The person behind Min-ji’s abduction, Golden Teeth, warns Min-cheol to delete the chat and throw away the phone because the call might come from the police. The final message claims that Min-ji’s body has already been handled.

Mr. Kim is devastated after believing his daughter is dead. Filled with anger, he prepares to shoot Min-cheol, but the police arrive before he can act.

Meanwhile, Hye-ri panics over what happened to Min-ji. Mr. Ju visits his daughter and asks about her day. He tells her to forget Min-ji’s actions and reminds her that people should fear her instead of underestimating her. Elsewhere, Golden Teeth’s men question why he refused payment from Hye-ri. He explains that Mr. Ju is dangerous and that acting without caution could put them all at risk.

This leads to a flashback to 2016, revealing Mr. Ju’s violent past. He built his influence by taking over construction companies through ruthless methods. The episode shows that Mr. Ju is a powerful and dangerous figure, and Golden Teeth admits that he owes him.

Agent Kim Reactivated Episode 2 Recap: A New Number 66 Arrives

A police van transports Mr. Kim after his arrest. At the same time, a spy secretly enters South Korea by sea. The spy is the younger brother of the original Number 66 and receives the same codename.

The new Number 66 meets with his handler, who gives him Mr. Kim’s latest location, a vehicle, and a weapon. He also instructs him to request funding for their operations. Later, Han-su gets released from prison and complains about Jin-cheol’s carefree attitude. He notices the new Number 66 but ignores his suspicions.

The new Number 66 disguises himself as a police officer and approaches Jin-cheol, who is asking for food. He questions Jin-cheol about Mr. Kim’s location, but Jin-cheol avoids giving a clear answer. When Number 66 threatens him with a gun, Jin-cheol reveals Mr. Kim’s home address. He then creates a distraction by attacking his cellmate and escapes.

Golden Teeth listens to the recording of his conversation with Hye-ri while his men force someone to leave a piece of land. He edits the recording before leaving the studio. When he opens his car trunk, he angrily scolds his subordinate for failing to properly cover Min-ji’s body. However, the episode reveals a shocking twist: Min-ji is still alive.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kim remains silent during his police interrogation. The officers take his fingerprints, but they cannot access his records. Just as the investigation continues, Mr. Kim receives a phone call. The caller is Min-ji, and he answers the phone with hope that his daughter is on the other end. The episode ends on this emotional cliffhanger.
