MISSOULA released “Ted Dollop,” the third single from their debut album Death Doula, showcasing the trio’s adventurous blend of groove and musicianship.

MISSOULA have released their latest single, “Ted Dollop,” now available on all major streaming platforms. The track serves as the third preview of the band’s debut album, Death Doula. It will arrive on June 26 through Org Music.

The instrumental trio features drummer Brooks Wackerman of Avenged Sevenfold and Bad Religion, guitarist John Konesky of Tenacious D, and bassist/keyboardist John Spiker, known for his work with Tenacious D and Beck. They have developed a distinctive sound that combines cinematic textures, powerful grooves, and adventurous musicianship.

Following the release of “Love Bombs” and “Crimson,” the band explores a different direction with “Ted Dollop.” The new single embraces a playful spirit while maintaining the group’s signature technical precision. Moreover, its infectious rhythm and unexpected twists highlight the band’s creative chemistry.

Konesky explains:

Much that was known of the legend of Ted Dollop is lost to the annals of history, but those that still speak to his glory will often hear his name in the rustling leaves and fields of wheat as the wind calmly blows rhythms of 7/8 o’er this great land. On June 3rd Missoula releases Ted Dollop in honor of the best to ever do it.

Throughout the song, MISSOULA prioritized memorable songwriting over pure technical display. Instead of focusing solely on complexity, they craft engaging compositions filled with dynamic shifts and expressive performances. As a result, the track feels both sophisticated and accessible.

That same approach drives Death Doula. Across eleven instrumental tracks, the album moves between heavy riffs, melodic passages, and cinematic arrangements. Furthermore, Wackerman’s commanding drumming, Konesky’s expressive guitar work. Spiker’s inventive bass and keyboard contributions create a cohesive and immersive listening experience. Rather than feeling like a side project, the record stands as a fully realized artistic statement.

Reflecting on the band’s creative philosophy, Konesky previously shared:

Missoula is what happens when you take the reins off and let yourself run free, naked and fearless, thru an infinite universe.

To celebrate the album’s release, Wackerman will host a sold-out drum clinic and listening party at Sweetwater in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The event will give attendees an early look at selections from Death Doula. It will offer insight into the album’s creative process. In addition, MISSOULA will perform a special hometown show at The Baked Potato in Los Angeles on June 30. The performance marks one of the band’s first official live appearances.

Stream “Ted Dollop” now on your favorite platform and get a taste of MISSOULA’s upcoming debut album, Death Doula, arriving June 26.
