Cade Hoppe announces his fourth album, Safer at a Distance, and shares “Flatearther,” exploring denial, ambition, and the struggle to face reality.
LA-based singer, songwriter, and producer Cade Hoppe is entering a new chapter with his upcoming album, Safer at a Distance. He will release the project on November 13, alongside its final pre-release single, “Flatearther.”
Hoppe also released an official music video for the track. The song follows previous album previews “Still Turn This Around,” “Lake Michigan,” and “Crashland.”

With hazy production and emotive vocals, “Flatearther” explores denial and self-deception. Hoppe uses the surreal idea of believing the Earth is flat despite overwhelming evidence as a metaphor for refusing to accept reality. Hoppe shares:
Sometimes you want so badly for something to be true that you ignore the overwhelming evidence that disproves it.
Moreover, the song captures a central theme of Safer at a Distance. The album examines the tension between acceptance and denial. Hoppe also reflects on the uncertainty that comes with pursuing a creative career.
A New Chapter for the LA-Based Artist
Safer at a Distance marks Hoppe’s fourth project. It follows Tell Me How I’m Worth It (2021), Everything That’s Wrong With You (2022), and Just Look At The Moon (2023).
Throughout the new album, Hoppe examines his changing relationship with music and ambition. He also explores the emotional weight of holding onto an uncertain future.
His path toward music took an unexpected turn. While studying finance and playing college basketball at NYU, Hoppe developed a stronger interest in songwriting and production. The pandemic eventually pushed him to pursue music full-time.
He funded his early releases through service industry jobs before building his career as an independent artist. After spending seven years in New York City, Hoppe relocated to Los Angeles. In addition to developing his own music, he now works as a producer for other artists.
Since debuting in 2021, Hoppe has earned recognition from Notion, Ones To Watch, and EARMILK. Furthermore, Safer at a Distance reflects the uncertainty, ambition, and determination that continue to shape his journey.
