Earthquake Lights Drops New Duet “Too Late”

News

Earthquake Lights shares the soulful single “Too Late” (feat. Nicole Zuraitis) ahead of their upcoming fourth studio album.

“Too Late” by Earthquake Lights (feat. Nicole Zuraitis) pairs timeless songwriting with modern alternative rock production. Inspired by Norah Jones and vintage soul records, it begins as a piano melody before it divulges its emotional core. It combines classic soul, neo-classical composition with contemporary rock.

It is soulful duet of two people that are drifting apart. Therefore, each voice gives a new perspective on the same withering relationship. Earthquake Lights Earthquake Lights’ single offers a resounding thesis on longing, regret, and the other more quiet moments that come with heartbreak. The collaboration with two-time GRAMMY Award-winning vocalist Nicole Zuraitis became one of the recording’s defining moments, as she wrote her lyrics after hearing the completed chorus. This method guaranteed the cohesion between the two stories.

The title came after the song’s central theme was officially constructed. “We always write the music first and fit the lyrics into the melody,” vocalist/pianist Myles Rodenhouse explains. “This one started at the piano, sung to gibberish and the phrase ‘It’s too late.’ I further fleshed it out with the band before we asked Nicole to collaborate and sing on the track.”

“Too Late” explores the middle ground between love and acceptance, showing the importance of both perspectives to get the nuance of the entire story. It does not assign blame or single out a single villain; it explores the different possibilities that come with a relationship that’s already running out of time.
