Cassie Walks Away from Nate in Euphoria Season 3 Episode 4
Euphoria Season 3 episode 4 opens with Rue in police custody. Sniffer dogs find fentanyl in her car. As a result, agents push the investigation further. In the interview room, they question her about Laurie and her links to Mexico.
Rue denies everything. She claims she has never been to Mexico. However, authorities present evidence that ties her to a cartel figure named Uno, who operates near the border. The pressure builds quickly. Rue faces a serious choice. She can spend decades in prison, or she can cooperate. Eventually, she agrees to work as a confidential source for the DEA.
Later, Rue returns to Alamo’s operation. She carries pills that agents have swapped with sugar and laxatives. Moreover, they install a tracking app on her phone and instruct her to keep it visible at all times. She moves carefully, knowing one mistake could expose her.
Elsewhere, Nate recovers from his injuries. Doctors reattach his toe. He views it as a sign that he can still fix his life. However, reality hits when he admits he owes Naz one million dollars. Cassie reacts immediately. She rejects his situation and declares their marriage over. Furthermore, she refuses to stay and deal with the fallout.
She contacts Maddy and asks for help. Soon after, Cassie packs her belongings and leaves Nate. Later, Maddy gives her a makeover and reshapes her image. Cassie shifts from suburban life to a more ambitious path in Hollywood.
Maddy Helps Cassie Reshape Her Life
Lexi offers Jules a chance to paint a portrait for a production. However, the project quickly goes off track. Jules creates a provocative piece that unsettles the producers. They push Lexi to resolve the issue. Jules attempts to adjust the work but fails to meet expectations. Instead, she covers the painting with red paint, which only worsens the situation.
The delay proves costly. The production loses $56,000 due to halted shooting. Furthermore, holding the studio for another week adds $191,000 in expenses. As a result, the director warns Lexi not to become a liability.
Meanwhile, Laurie mourns the loss of her bird. She refuses to continue business with Alamo. This creates a major problem, as Rue’s temporary freedom depends on that arrangement.
Elsewhere, Nate makes a desperate move. He attends a court hearing to resolve issues tied to a protected flower blocking his development project. He pleads with the California board for an exception. However, they deny his request. The rejection overwhelms him, and he breaks down in court.
At the same time, Maddy begins reshaping Cassie’s image. She guides her toward building an online persona centered on adult content. This new direction unfolds close to Lexi’s workspace. Lexi grows increasingly frustrated, especially as she tries to succeed without compromising her values like others around her.
Euphoria Season 3 Episode 4 Recap: Rue Raises Suspicions
Rue presses Alamo about his operations in Mexico. Her questions raise suspicion. Alamo quickly turns on her and accuses her of being a rat or using again.
However, Rue shifts the conversation. She admits to a small slip-up and redirects attention. The tension stays high, but she manages to hold her ground. Moreover, the card game they play helps ease the situation. Rue even wins, which subtly shifts the dynamic.
Elsewhere, news spreads that Angel has escaped rehab. The club replaces her locker with a new dancer named Kitty. However, Kitty’s experience turns dark. Some clients take advantage of her in a private room. Rue watches through the monitors and feels disturbed by what she sees.
Meanwhile, Maddy takes Cassie to a party. They head to Brandon Fontaine’s house, a major influencer with millions of followers. Maddy pushes Cassie to post bold content to boost her online presence. Cassie follows through and quickly gains attention. Later, she ditches Maddy at the party and focuses on her own moves. Maddy reacts by calling Smilez for backup after discovering Cassie with Brandon.
Violence Erupts at Alamo’s Club
Back at the club, Rue questions Kitty about her situation. She asks if Kitty chooses the work or if someone forces her into it. However, Magick overhears the conversation and grows suspicious. Rue’s behavior raises concerns. She draws attention to herself with too many questions. Moreover, she leaves her phone in the office. When it rings, she answers after claiming it is her mother.
On the other end, DEA agents warn her. They tell her she may be compromised and that others suspect her of being a snitch. They urge her to act fast and discredit Magick. Tension escalates quickly. Rue and Magick clash, and the situation turns physical. Suddenly, masked men storm into the office and demand access to the safe.
They shoot Eddy in the stomach to force compliance. Under pressure, he opens the safe. The men grab the money and flee the scene. Meanwhile, Magick checks the surveillance footage. She reports everything to Alamo in real time. At the same time, Rue catches a glimpse of the getaway driver and claims the driver is Faye.
Euphoria Season 3 episode 4 brings back the Maddy–Cassie duo once again. Since Nate is broke and deep in debt, Cassie tries to step up. However, her decision to run to Maddy for help feels ironic and highlights her desperation. It raises an important question: did she ask for Maddy’s help to save Nate, or to help herself?
