NOANNE and Gregory Darling deliver “Suite 17,” a cinematic psychological noir exploring obsession, temptation, memory, and destructive patterns.

NOANNE and Gregory Darling bring cinematic suspense to “Suite 17,” a psychological noir that blends haunting vocals, dramatic orchestration, and a story steeped in mystery.

Prague-based artist NOANNE draws inspiration from film, theatre, and visual storytelling. She creates atmospheric music that explores introspection, imagination, and the darker sides of human emotion. Moreover, she embraces her introverted nature as part of her creative identity.

For “Suite 17,” NOANNE joins forces with Gregory Darling, an acclaimed producer, musician, and singer-songwriter. The four-time Billboard Top 30 artist has collaborated with Julian Lennon and Gregg Alexander, among other notable names. Together, they turn the single into an immersive duet.

A Psychological Noir in Sound

NOANNE builds “Suite 17” around Hitchcock-era suspense, forgotten letters, and the dangerous attraction of self-destruction. The title also plays with the words “suite” and “sweet.” This contrast reflects the song’s central tension between seduction and destruction, intimacy and obsession.

At its center stands Jack, a mysterious figure introduced through the refrain, “My name is Jack, I live in Suite 17…” The song never fully explains who he is. Instead, Jack exists between memory, temptation, and destructive patterns. He appears when someone begins to lose their sense of self.

The story draws from a real-life tale about a letter that arrived after its sender had died. From there, NOANNE explores the emotional pull that keeps people returning to places they know they should leave behind. Jack therefore becomes more than a character. He represents repetition, temptation, and the parts of ourselves we cannot easily escape.

Darling approaches the story from the perspective of someone watching another person disappear into that struggle. Meanwhile, NOANNE embodies the seductive force at its center.

Musically, “Suite 17” combines shadowy textures, sweeping strings, and theatrical arrangements. Strings from the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia were recorded at Rome’s historic Forum Studios, co-founded by Ennio Morricone.

NOANNE continues to expand her multidisciplinary career through music, performance, and visual storytelling. Her achievements include 2024 Grammy consideration, an Oscar-qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival selection, and appearances at the Cannes Film Festival as an accredited composer in 2025 and 2026.

With “Suite 17,” NOANNE and Gregory Darling transform psychological suspense into a haunting musical experience where illusion, obsession, and identity collide.
