On July 24, Agent Kim Reactivated episode 9 premiered on Netflix. The episode follows Mr. Kim as he launches a high-risk mission to rescue Ri Eung-ryeong before North Korean agents can extract critical intelligence from him.
Meanwhile, Han-soo, Jin-cheol, Sang-a, and the laundromat owner work together to infiltrate a heavily guarded resort and execute a carefully planned rescue. Moreover, the operation quickly spirals out of control, ending with multiple lives in danger and a shocking hostage crisis.

A Dangerous Exchange in Agent Kim Reactivated Episode 9 Recap
Agent Kim Reactivated episode 9 opens with Mr. Ju giving his assistant a second chance after his previous failure. A brief flashback then returns to the inter-Korean peace talks, where Mr. Ju discusses creating more chaos behind the scenes. Shortly afterward, the North Korean delegation suspends the negotiations after learning that Mr. Kim and Ri Eung-ryeong are involved.
The story then shifts back to the present as Mole Cricket and the Special Missions Directorate intercept Mr. Kim, Han-soo, and Jin-cheol at the trailer. The agents hand Mr. Kim and Ri Eung-ryeong over to North Korean authorities.
A flashback reveals Mole Cricket’s true objective. Rather than stopping the transfer, the Special Missions Directorate wants Ri Eung-ryeong’s missile intelligence. The agency also expects Mr. Kim to react violently, giving them an opportunity to seize the information.
Meanwhile, Han-soo and Jin-cheol debate whether they should rescue Mr. Kim. They eventually discover that Mr. Kim left his own phone behind and secretly took Han-soo’s phone instead, leaving them a clue to follow.
Soon after, the convoy splits at a fork in the road. Mr. Ju takes custody of Mr. Kim, while North Korean agents escort Ri Eung-ryeong to another location. Moments later, they shoot Ri Eung-ryeong before transporting him away.
Mr. Ju prepares to leave with Mr. Kim, but Mr. Kim fights back. Han-soo and Jin-cheol arrive just in time and overpower Mr. Ju’s men. Desperate to find Ri Eung-ryeong, Mr. Kim demands answers. In return for his freedom, Mr. Ju agrees to lead Mr. Kim directly to Ri Eung-ryeong.
The Team’s Rescue Plan
Elsewhere, Min-ji waits alone inside the safe room. Although she remains protected, she grows increasingly worried about her father.
Meanwhile, North Korean officials take Ri Eung-ryeong to their headquarters and torture him for information. They want to know exactly how much South Korea has learned about the country’s missile program.
Nearby, Sang-a and the laundromat owner monitor the North Korean delegation from outside the hotel. They immediately relay the updates to Mr. Kim and the rest of the team.
At the same time, Han-soo asks Mr. Ju for the safest way into the building. Mr. Ju reveals a hidden tunnel leading directly to the chairman’s office. He also provides his access card, although he warns them that the North Korean delegation has disabled the hotel’s CCTV system and replaced it with its own surveillance network.
After gathering enough information, Mr. Kim and the team finalize their rescue strategy. Mr. Kim will extract Ri Eung-ryeong while the others create distractions throughout the building. They also plan to hide Ri Eung-ryeong inside a laundry truck. However, they only have ten minutes before the truck leaves the resort. The laundromat owner volunteers to manage the escape vehicle.
Agent Kim Reactivated Episode 9 Recap: Inside the Resort
As night falls, the rescue operation begins. Mr. Kim and the others enter the resort through the secret tunnel. Unbeknownst to them, the new Number 66 secretly watches their every move.
Inside the chairman’s office, Mr.Kim, Han-soo, and Sang-a review the final details of the mission. Meanwhile, Mr. Ju quietly receives a message from his assistant, signaling that another plan is already in motion.
Soon after, Jin-cheol orders room service so he and Sang-a can disguise themselves as hotel attendants. Han-soo hides beneath the service cart while the pair pushes it through the corridors. At the same time, Mr. Kim heads toward Ri Eung-ryeong’s suite, while the laundromat owner arrives outside the resort to prepare the escape vehicle.
Han-soo, Sang-a, and Jin-cheol successfully seize the surveillance room and locate Ri Eung-ryeong inside a fifth-floor suite. Meanwhile, Mr. Kim quietly slips into the room and overhears a critical conversation.
The North Korean delegate demands access to eight million dollars hidden as casino chips inside a private vault at Fanta Casino. In exchange, he promises to spare Ri Eung-ryeong’s life. However, Ri Eung-ryeong claims he hid the access card somewhere in China. With only minutes remaining, Mr. Kim knocks the delegate unconscious and prepares for the extraction.
Mission Unravels
Outside the suite, Han-soo and Jin-cheol battle several guards while Sang-a narrowly escapes detection. Unfortunately, the team’s communications suddenly fail, leaving Mr. Kim isolated from the others.
Despite the setback, Mr. Kim methodically defeats every guard blocking his path. At the same time, Mr. Ju quietly attempts to escape captivity.
Soon afterward, North Korean agents activate an EMP device, shutting down power across the resort. As darkness fills the building, Han-soo and Jin-cheol encounter another wave of enemy operatives. Jin-cheol single-handedly holds them off near the elevators.
Meanwhile, security orders the laundromat owner to leave the premises. Although he reluctantly complies, he later circles back through another route to continue supporting the mission.
The North Korean delegate regains consciousness and immediately orders his men to capture Mr. Kim and Ri Eung-ryeong. With less than a minute remaining before the escape truck departs, heavy gunfire erupts at the loading dock, trapping both men.
Elsewhere, Han-soo faces Jang Tae-san, a decorated North Korean wrestling champion who surprisingly claims to know him.
At the same time, Mr. Ju burns through the ropes binding his hands and frees himself, badly injuring his wrists in the process. Meanwhile, the laundromat owner fights his way back toward the resort, while Mr. Kim defeats several North Korean agents equipped with night-vision goggles. However, more enemies quickly surround him, making escape nearly impossible.
Finally, Han-soo and Jin-cheol reach Mr. Ju’s office and find him calmly enjoying a drink. Moments later, his assistant plays a video showing Han-soo’s son and Jin-cheol’s daughter being held hostage. The shocking revelation brings the episode to a tense and emotional cliffhanger.
