In Perfect Crown episode 3, which aired on April 17, Grand Prince Yi An finally accepts Seong Hui-ju’s marriage proposal after their dating scandal, and they begin pretending to be a loving couple in front of everyone.

Perfect Crown Episode 3 Recap: Grand Prince Yi An and Seong Hui-ju’s Fake Relationship Begins
After their dating scandal in episode 2, Grand Prince Yi An accepts Hui-ju’s proposal. He tells her to prepare, as she will face the entire nation. They meet the media at the palace and act like a real couple, while her PR team quickly spins the story—turning her into the commoner who captured the prince’s heart.
Then, Queen Mother Yi-rang summons Yi An and demands an apology. However, he stands firm and insists he is serious about Hui-ju. He also brushes off the pregnancy rumor.
Afterward, Yi An finds Hui-ju feeding the young king and immediately gets upset, worried she will be blamed if anything goes wrong. Although the young king explains she was only helping him sleep, Yi An refuses to listen.
Later, Hui-ju asks if he would take her side against the Queen Mother. Caught off guard, Yi An still assures her he would. Then, he admits they need to act convincing, saying he must look infatuated with her so people will believe their growing romance as he leans close to her.
Hui-ju and Yi An Share a Bed in the Palace
Hui-ju ends up sleeping in Yi An’s room in the palace. They share a bed and bicker over the blanket. Meanwhile, nosy palace helpers misunderstand the situation and assume things are getting heated.
The next morning,Yi An overslept, even though he suffers from insomnia. At the same time, Hui-ju heads to work wearing the same outfit she wore to the palace, making it clear she stayed overnight and wants the public to know.
Soon after, Prime Minister Min Jeong-woo visits Hui-ju and questions her decision to marry the prince. She confidently says she loves Yi An and wants to marry him before the royal family forces him to marry someone else. She then asks for his support to approve their marriage.
Later that day, Hui-ju calls Yi An about an article about them that suddenly gets taken down. During their call, a group of high school students confronts her in the parking lot and throw eggs at her, worrying Yi An. Still, she keeps her composure and firmly puts them in their place.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Min later confesses to a priest that he does not want to support Hui-ju’s marriage to Yi An. He reveals that he has liked her since high school. Although he struggles with her decisions, he admits he cannot stop her. All he can do is let her choose her path and support her from afar.
Yi An Leaves His Work Behind to Check on Hui-ju in Perfect Crown Episode 3
Hui-ju finally arrives home and finds her father waiting for her. He immediately accuses her of using the royal family for attention. He also blames her for entering his life and causing his wife’s death after revealing she was his illegitimate child.
Then, he calls her greedy for demanding fairness and attention like her brother. He even threatens to disown her. However, Hui-ju stands her ground and pushes back, while also remembering how she grew up craving his attention but never received it. Meanwhile, Yi An stays busy at the palace with piles of work. Still, he calls Hui-ju and notices something is wrong when she cannot even say she is okay.
Worried, Yi An leaves his duties and shows up at her doorstep with sandwiches from Subway. Hui-ju is surprised, but her mood improves as they eat and talk together. Yi An even orders the “Seong Hui-ju set,” which lifts the moment further. Aide Choi-hyun, however, panics over his sudden disappearance.
Yi An Brings Hui-ju Home in his Private Residence
Seong Hui-ju tells him about the high school students who attacked her. Yi An then brings her to his private residence. The helpers are shocked when she arrives, but they quickly see how close and sweet the couple acts. Fortunately, Hui-ju also gets along well with them until the end of the episode.
That same night, Hui-ju tries to help Yi An with his workload, but she ends up distracting him by continuously asking questions.
She even asks why he is marrying her, and he says it is for her money, since she can help the royal family, which is always accused of squandering taxpayers’ money, and for her beauty. He adds that if he ever tried to claim the crown and everyone condemned him and hurled insults, he believes she would be the only person who would understand him.
Hui-ju Faces Suspicion Over the Palace Fire at the Royal Birthday Banquet
Queen Mother Yi-rang secretly orders an investigation into the palace fire. The next morning, men in black suits storm Yi An’s private residence and accuse Hui-ju of being the main suspect. They claim she entered a restricted area during the royal birthday banquet and point out her past criticism of the royal family.
The royal helpers try to help her, but the men still insist on taking her to the palace for questioning. Hui-ju tries calling Yi An, but he cannot answer because of the royal ancestral rite ceremony. In response, Hui-ju uses Yi An’s identification tag to get help. She sends for Secretary Hye-jung, and soon Yi An learns what is happening. He rushes over just in time before they take Hui-ju to the interrogation room.
Then, Yi An confronts the men, but the Queen Mother arrives and insists Hui-ju was seen near the restricted area on the night of the fire. However, Yi An defends her and says there is not enough evidence.
Yi-rang then threatens to damage Hui-ju’s reputation and her company anyway. In response, Yi An demands to be questioned as well, since targeting Hui-ju means targeting him too. Right then, Hui-ju fakes fainting, and everyone plays along to get out of this situation.
Grand Prince Yi An Kisses Hui-ju in Perfect Crown Episode 3
Everyone gets shocked by how protective Grand Prince Yi An is toward Hui-ju as he firmly takes her side. After they are alone, Hui-ju jokes that news of his “love” will spread quickly around the palace. Soon, it does, and everyone starts believing they are truly in love. Even Queen Mother Yi-rang begins to wonder if it is true.
Yi An then reassures Hui-ju that Yi-rang will not target her directly since he is now standing in the way. After the incident, Yi An sees Hui-ju off warmly before returning to work. At his private residence, the helpers welcome Hui-ju warmly, and she thanks them for their help earlier.
In the evening, Prince Yi An calls her before bed, and they laugh about all the antics he’s pulled to prove their “love.” She asks if she should do the same, then heads to the palace, where the two meet over the royal fence and give him tea and vitamins to help him sleep. She even jokes about being a “supportive wife.” Suddenly, Yi An gently holds her face and kisses her.
At the end of the episode 3 of Perfect Crown, it is revealed that Yi An gave Hui-ju his identification tag. He tells her she can “summon” him whenever she needs a title behind her or when she is scared.
