Yesterday Episode 9 Recap: Kelvin Takes the Fall for Vier
After hearing about the wall collapse in episode 8, Vier and Kelvin rush to the construction site, where angry families confront them. They promise compensation, but tensions rise, and someone throws a brick that hits Kelvin in the forehead. Vier quickly brings him to a clinic to treat his head wound. Still, when Vier asks about the cuts on Kelvin’s arm, Kelvin brushes it off, claiming he “accidentally” hurt himself.

Soon, as Kelvin stalls to speak with Mr. Lee about the Chao Phraya Hotel project, Vier meets Lalin. She suggests using the crisis as a trap—pretend to withdraw so Loyde Group steps in, then strike back and expose Loyde Group’s corruption and staged murder.
Soon after, Vier and Kelvin reassure Mr. Lee that they’ll fix everything. However, the situation worsens when the police arrive and take Vier for questioning. Kelvin steps in instead, telling Vier, “I can’t bear the thought of you being in jail again.”
In the end, with the police involved, Mr. Lee decides to cut ties and stop the business deal.
Kelvin Chooses Vier Over Everything
In the interrogation room, Vier visits Kelvin, but their conversation quickly turns serious when Kelvin suddenly collapses from an acute stress reaction. Doctors step in and later reveal that he shows signs of bipolar disorder and depression, along with a high risk of self-harm.
After that, Vier confronts him for lying again. Kelvin admits he hid everything because he didn’t want to burden him, saying it’s his battle to fight. However, the guilt hits him hard, triggering another panic attack. This time, Vier pulls him into a hug and manages to calm him down.
Once Kelvin calm down, Vier brings up Ken dissolving the KING Group board. Still, Kelvin brushes it off—he already knows but no longer cares. Instead, he focuses on Vier’s safety, despite everything he sacrificed to reclaim the company.
Before heading back to his cell, Kelvin says he’s just grateful that Vier is still alive.
The Fall of Loyde Group in Yesterday Episode 9
Just as Ken believes he and the Loyde Group have secured the project, things start to fall apart. Instead of delivering quality, they cut corners—using cheap materials and laundering money. When Mr. Lee questions the declining standards, Ken responds by threatening a manufacturer tied to VPG Group, even telling him to terminate their contract or he’ll harm his family.
Meanwhile, Nana uncovers the truth behind her mother’s recorder. She learns that Likit deliberately sabotaged the project in the past to seize its assets, then pinned the blame on NT Group, even killing her family to keep the truth hidden.
Soon after, everything unravels. News breaks nationwide, exposing Loyde Group for using substandard construction materials and abusing its power to intimidate business partners.
The truth about Vier’s Forehead Scar
Vier picks Kelvin up from the police station and brings him home. There, they share wine, and Kelvin opens up, thinking he’s only being a burden. He reflects on his past, saying, “Back then, revenge was all I had on my mind. I never got to know myself until I met you.” He then admits, “I don’t know what love is, but I know that I love you.”
When Vier questions his feelings again, Kelvin insists he has never lied about them. He confesses he doesn’t know how to love properly and asks Vier to teach him, saying, “I don’t know how I’m supposed to love you. But if I’ve got you by my side, and you’re here not out of pity, could you teach me how to love? I’m such a greedy guy. I don’t deserve you.” Vier simply calls him annoying before passionately kissing him, and they spend the night together sharing red wine.
The next day, Vier accompanies Kelvin to therapy. During the session, the scar on Vier’s forehead triggers Kelvin, and he finally reveals the truth—he was the one who caused it, not kidnappers as Vier believed. He admits he acted out of fear and control, saying he wanted Vier to become less flawless so others would want him less and so Vier would only belong to him.
Saying the truth to Vier, but Kelvin isn’t ready yet, he tells the psychiatrist he is scared of losing Vier and never seeing him again. He is advised to be honest with him moving forward.
