XG Teases New Era With Upcoming Single “DEPENDS”

News

XG announces “DEPENDS,” a new digital single exploring uncertainty and growth as the group enters a new chapter under XGALX.

XG will release its new digital single “DEPENDS” on November 6, marking the group’s first new music in nearly a year. The announcement follows a major change behind the scenes, as XGALX has officially rebranded its label and entertainment operations.

The company disappeared from its website and social media accounts on September 13 without explanation. The sudden blackout sparked speculation among fans. XGALX has since revealed a new direction built around its artists, supported by the same core team that helped develop the label. Its new tagline, “Genuine Art Lives. Lives Create Culture,” reflects the company’s renewed focus on music, management, marketing, and global expansion.

“DEPENDS” Embraces Uncertainty

DEPENDS” follows XG’s latest full-length project, “THE CORE – 核,” which reached the Top 100 of the US Billboard 200 and topped Billboard JAPAN’s Hot Albums chart in January.

The upcoming single explores uncertainty and the difficulty of finding clear answers. Its lyrics follow someone who continues moving forward while still searching for clarity. Rather than forcing certainty, the song embraces the idea that some feelings can remain unresolved.

The release also arrives after XG’s first appearance at Rock In Japan Festival 2026, where the group delivered its first full-band performance at the event.

A Year of Global Milestones

XG has maintained a packed schedule throughout 2026. The group became the first Japanese artist to perform at Capital’s Summertime Ball in London in June. It later made its debut at Fuji Rock Festival in July and took a second-headliner slot at Head In The Clouds Festival in Los Angeles in August.

Furthermore, XG continues its second world tour, XG WORLD TOUR: THE CORE, which spans 35 shows across Asia, Europe, Australia, and North America. The tour will conclude with four performances across Tokyo Dome and Kyocera Dome Osaka in February 2027.

The members have also expanded their presence in fashion, working with publications and brands including Dior, Gucci, SPUR, ELLE JAPON, and Numéro TOKYO.

With “DEPENDS” on the way and XGALX entering a new phase, XG continues to expand its presence across music, performance, fashion, and culture.

Listen to XG’s “DEPENDS” and experience the group’s latest sound as they continue their global music journey.
