Sam Palladio returns with “Burberry Jacket,” a cinematic indie-pop single inspired by London, marking his second release with 3686 Records.
British singer-songwriter and actor Sam Palladio has released his new single, “Burberry Jacket,” now available on all major streaming platforms. The track marks his second release with Nashville-based independent label 3686 Records. Palladio shared:
I wanted the song to feel as hypnotic as its main character, with the pulsing bass and rhythm of the drums providing the backbone to build this sonic world. The Dire Straits-inspired riff in the bridge, played by the amazing Joey McClennan, pushes that feeling even further, and I love it.
Palladio co-wrote the song with Phil Barnes (Taylor Acorn, KNOX, The Lone Bellow) and Kendall Goodman (Danielle Bradbery, Reyna Roberts, Matt Schuster). Together, they drew inspiration from London’s streets, folklore, and timeless mystique.
Set against the backdrop of Fleet Street, “Burberry Jacket” incorporates subtle references to the legend of Sweeney Todd. The song tells the story of a femme fatale whose beauty is both irresistible and dangerous. Its lyrics highlight the intensity of a love that consumes everything in its path. One of its standout lines reads, “Love me to the grave, your beauty could put me in a casket, bury my bones in your Burberry jacket.”
Musically, the single combines pulsing basslines, shimmering guitars, and hypnotic rhythms with cinematic storytelling. Although Palladio has lived in Nashville for more than a decade, the track reconnects him with his British roots. As a result, “Burberry Jacket” blends London’s atmosphere, history, and fashion with the modern indie-pop sound he has developed in Music City.
From Nashville to New Music
Many fans first discovered Palladio through his role as Gunnar Scott in ABC’s Nashville, where he became a fan favorite during the show’s six-season run. Since then, he has continued to shape his career as a recording artist by blending indie-pop, Americana, and folk influences.
He created his debut album with Søren Hansen of New Politics and multi-GRAMMY-winning producer Dave Sardy, whose credits include Oasis, Snow Patrol, LCD Soundsystem, and The Who. In addition, Palladio followed the album with well-received releases such as “Something On My Mind” and “Tennessee,” the latter featuring Foo Fighters guitarist Chris Shiflett.
Beyond music, Palladio has expanded his acting career with roles in Netflix’s The Princess Switch trilogy, AMC’s Humans, Showtime’s Episodes, ABC’s Rebel, the Bob Marley biopic One Love, and the thriller series The Couple Next Door.
Most recently, Palladio performed across the United Kingdom and joined the NASHVILLE: The Encore Tour. Now, with “Burberry Jacket,” he embraces darker themes, cinematic storytelling, and the British influences that first shaped his artistry, opening a new chapter in his musical journey.
