The Falls unveils their powerful new single “Loaded Gun.” The track is the third single from their upcoming album Would You Do It All Over Again, releasing September 18, 2026 via Revo Pro.
Formed in 2023, the band quickly impacted the UK indie scene with remarkable momentum. They established themselves as one of Manchester’s rising acts. They performed in major UK venues, selling out tickets as their popularity grew.
Their debut EP, Viva La Falls, now accumulates over 100,000 streams worldwide. They continue soaring with music that blends guitar hooks, infectious melodies, and sharp storytelling. More of it shows in their newest single “Loaded Gun.”
Confronting mistakes head-on
The roots of “Loaded Gun” took inspiration from a scene from Martin Scorsese’s 2006 crime masterpiece The Departed. In the scene, mob boss Frank Costello, confronts young Colin Sullivan about the choices awaiting him. The song title is not a weapon reference, but a metaphor.
To add more context, the song conveys that whichever path you choose, the outcome is predetermined. Moreover, the bullet already rests in the chamber. This also sparked vocalist and lyricist Harrison Sharp to write about facing mistakes, reminding that no matter how far you run, they eventually catch up. He explains,
‘Loaded Gun’ is probably one of our darker, more rocky tracks and brings back a similar sound to some of our earliest releases. No matter how far you try to run from your problems they always find a way to catch you, there is no escape. ‘Loaded Gun’ is a story of confrontation of toxic relationships, of being trapped in something with no way out. It’s a song we’ve been playing live for a long time, so we’re buzzing to finally get it out there properly.
Additionally, Luke Owens produced, mixed, and mastered the track. The song stands as the band’s darkest, most confrontational single to date. In general, it explores guilt, pressure, and the inescapable consequences of actions destined to haunt you. The crashing guitars, relentless momentum, and emotionally charged lyrics aim to evoke a deeper emotional response from listeners.
