To kick off his 1st ever Philippine Tour, Jay Chang had a press conference on June 26, 2026, expressing his excitement to finally be home.
K-pop idol and One Pact member JAY CHANG finally met Filipino fans during his mall tour across Robinsons Galleria Main Atrium, SM City Manila Event Center, and Ayala Malls The 30th Activity Center from June 26 to 28.
Throughout the tour, Jay shared his excitement about finally visiting the Philippines and meeting Filipino Sunlights. Holding a concert in the country has long been one of his goals, especially as someone who is part Filipino with family roots in Rizal.
Jay shared:
I’ve been so excited. There’s been so many Filipino fans going to Korea and telling me how much I should come and how much I should meet everyone here.
The Q&A session featured questions about the Philippine cities he hopes to visit and the local dishes he wants to try. Fans also enthusiastically asked him to sing a few lines whenever he mentioned a song.
He added:
The passion of the Philippines is something I’ve never really seen be matched personally.
His thoughts on Filipino Sunlights
When asked what song he dedicates to Filipino Sunlights, he names “Four Seasons.” It’s a song that is most personal to him, he says, and he is adequately able to express his gratitude to his fans.

He was also asked if he listens to Filipino artists, and he names Zack Tabudlo and Dionela, recommending “Marilag” by the latter. Fans are hoping for a collaboration in the future.
Reflections on his career so far
When asked if there is a moment in his career that he is most proud of, JAY CHANG says that it is being able to debut as it meant for him to have a platform to express himself.
A particular song cover he is proud of is his Love Me Right stage in Boys Planet, as it is a performance he did purely off of having fun.
JAY CHANG believes that he excels in the R&B soul genre because he considers himself a romantic soul. But he says that he likes to try a traditional ballad song in the future.
Lastly, the most valuable lesson he has learned from all the survival shows he competed in is that as an artist, he says that you will never really achieve success if you’re not making music from the heart. He has tried, but for him, authenticity and genuineness always win, which also makes him comfortable. “As long as I’m working hard and staying true to my own heart, the people that will support me are just as valuable.”
To him, survival shows are challenging, but gratifying. The support he receives is very fast and hot, but that helps him appreciate what he has more. He ends this question by saying that the fans that still believe in him also help him believe in himself.
Memorable moments with fans
He mentions that he has received numerous messages or letters from fans expressing how he has helped them escape a dark place and recognize the abundance of life.
There’s a lot of different ways my fans show me appreciation, and I’m very grateful for all of it. Something that has definitely stuck with me the most is hearing about ways my music has helped them become better versions of themself, because one thing that I really love being able to kind of provide is not only comfort and a way to express yourself, but also a way to understand that you are so much more than you are.
He says that he and his team are still working on getting the album together, but fans can expect a more R&B sound that he is excited to try. If he does have choreography in the future, he candidly says that he’ll make sure it is similar to his dance challenge to the song “Oohh La La Baby.”
To end, JAY CHANG thanked Filipino fans for having him again. Even if it’s been a short press con, he expresses how at home he feels, how it’s a dream come true for him to be here and that he already cannot wait to be back!
