Bea Elmy Martin shares Under The Yew (Vol. 2), a soulful collection exploring love, loss, growth, and self-discovery through indie-pop.

Bea Elmy Martin continues to define her place in the UK alternative scene with Under The Yew (Vol. 2) and its standout track “High.” The London-born singer-songwriter blends atmospheric vocals, orchestral textures, and electronic elements to create music shaped by honesty and emotional depth.

Inspired by soul legends like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and Donny Hathaway, Bea developed a strong connection to melody and storytelling from an early age. She uses songwriting as a personal outlet, transforming experiences of love, loss, and self-discovery into songs that feel intimate and relatable. Moreover, her collaboration with producer Dominick J Goldsmith (HÆLOS) helped shape her evolving sound, beginning with her 2021 debut single “Blue Escape” and continuing through the first volume of Under The Yew.

Released in May 2025, Under The Yew (Vol. 1) explored themes of healing and renewal. Bea now expands that journey with Under The Yew (Vol. 2), a six-track collection that examines connection, identity, and personal growth.

A Collection Built on Growth, Connection, and Self-Discovery

The project’s focus track, “High,” explores the complicated emotions that come with relationships while still learning about yourself. Bea balances playful energy with deeper reflections, capturing the tension between seeking connection and finding confidence independently. She describes the song as a reminder to embrace your own company before chasing intense emotions.

Furthermore, the remaining tracks reveal different sides of Bea’s emotional journey. “Anouk” reflects the lasting strength of friendship, while “Lost,” “Born To Fly,” and “Unscarred” explore healing, change, and self-definition. “Written On Me” highlights the quiet impact of love and the memories people leave behind.

With influences ranging from Air and Portishead to Billie Marten and Adrianne Lenker, Bea creates a sound that feels both timeless and personal. Her work has earned recognition from Clash, Notion, Wonderland, EARMILK, Mystic Sons, and BBC tastemakers. Through Under The Yew (Vol. 2), Bea Elmy Martin delivers a powerful reflection on resilience, growth, and becoming whole.
