Gyeong-se’s New Co-writer in We Are All Trying Here Episode 7

We Are All Trying Here episode 7 opens with Dong-man arriving at work in high spirits. He approaches Jong-hui and offers his help whenever needed. Furthermore, his words carry deeper meaning after his growing connection with Eun-a. His emotional release from the previous episode pushes him toward optimism. In addition, he declares a simple goal—he wants to live to old age and die naturally, without pain.

Elsewhere, Jae-gyeong moves forward with crediting Eun-a. However, he assigns her a new pseudonym. He chooses the name “Yeong-sil.” Later, Dong-man meets Eun-a for a meal. During their conversation, Dong-man admits something important. He says Jin-man triggered the “help me” emotion on his watch. Moreover, he acknowledges how deeply that moment affected him.

Eun-a then opens up about her mother. She explains her past and her painful memories. Her mother left her in a weak and cowardly way. As a result, Eun-a made a firm promise. She decides never to become like her. Furthermore, this shapes her dream of becoming a strong woman and a dependable mother.

Meanwhile, Hye-jin confronts Gyeong-se. She criticizes his writing process and demands improvement. In addition, she forces him to find a co-writer. She sends him upstairs to fix his script and focus.

Upstairs, Gyeong-se interviews a new writer, Jeong-min. He questions her harshly. Moreover, he shows clear bias and dismisses her ability to handle violent or graphic content. Jeong-min does not back down. She ignores his attempts to discourage her, including the lack of credit. Instead, she laughs and calls him the funniest director she has ever met.

Her reaction catches Gyeong-se off guard. Slowly, it softens his attitude. Eventually, he accepts her, despite noticing errors in her work and doubting her experience.

Eun-a Praises Dong-man’s Revised Screenplay

Elsewhere, Dong-man grows nervous as Eun-a reads his revised script. She promises to review it carefully, including all the changes. He waits for her reaction. She finishes reading, pauses briefly, and then packs up her things without a clear response.

Meanwhile, Dong-man stays at the bar. Jeong-hui sits in an adjacent room. Dong-man enters and praises her acting. However, tension rises quickly. Jeong-hui questions his filmography. He has none to show. As a result, Dong-man scrambles to talk his way out of the awkward exchange. Jeong-hui watches him with clear contempt.

Soon after, Eun-a arrives at the bar. She unexpectedly comes face-to-face with her mother. Eun-a freezes. She looks shocked, almost haunted. In contrast, Jeong-hui walks past her without a word.

Back inside, Hye-jin presents a new script titled Knock, Knock, Knock by Jae-yeong. She pushes for actor Noh Kang-sik as the lead. Furthermore, she tries to convince Director Choi to support the project. He agrees to forward the script. However, his superior attitude frustrates her.

Elsewhere, Eun-a finally speaks to Dong-man. She praises his revised script and admits she cried while reading it. In addition, she rushes over and hugs him out of excitement. Their moment breaks when Mi-ran arrives and lightens the mood.

Later, the group drinks together. The atmosphere shifts when Jeong-hui comes up in conversation. Mi-ran expresses discomfort with her role as Jeong-hui’s “daughter.” Moreover, she criticizes Jeong-hui’s behavior, which further strains the mood at the table.

On the way home, Dong-man feels unusually calm. His watch glows green. Furthermore, he admits he feels okay. He tells Gyeong-se that he knows he does not hate him. In a spontaneous moment, he rests his head on Gyeong-se’s shoulder. Gyeong-se reacts awkwardly and clearly dislikes it.

Despite the discomfort, the moment turns lighthearted. Soon after, the group ends up at the beach. They let go of their worries and dance together in the moment. Moreover, Yeong-su draws inspiration from the scene. He sits down and begins writing a new movie scene.

In the middle of the fun, Mi-ran makes a confession. She admits she likes Dong-man. However, his watch immediately flashes red for “awkward.” Eun-a notices the reaction. Then Dong-man responds honestly and admits he likes Eun-a.

The mood shifts instantly. The ride home turns tense. The group nearly crashes when the car loses control and spins on the road. They all survive the incident. Meanwhile, Jeong-hui scrolls through Mi-ran’s social media posts. She sees beach photos of the entire group, including Eun-a. This discovery sharpens her focus.

The next day at work, Director Choi confronts Eun-a. He orders her to step away from Jun-hwan’s film. He calls the 20 billion won budget too risky. Eun-a refuses to back down. Furthermore, she suspects Jeong-hui influences his decision.

Later, Jeong-hui summons Eun-a. Eun-a arrives reluctantly. Jeong-hui strikes first and attacks her emotionally. She compares Dong-man’s perceived uselessness to Eun-a’s birth father. However, Eun-a fires back. She criticizes Jeong-hui’s elitist attitude and cold personality. She calls her a “mass of contempt,” refusing to stay silent any longer.

Eun-a Asks for Dong-man’s Help

Eun-a recognizes Jeong-hui’s mindset. She sees how Jeong-hui views herself as superior. Furthermore, she notices how Jeong-hui removes anything that does not match her worldview. Despite this, Jeong-hui continues to exert control. One of her associates reports that they have found Su-ja. In addition, Jeong-hui reacts quickly and starts making plans.

Jeong-hui worries about public backlash. She decides to move them into a fully furnished apartment. Moreover, she feels embarrassed about her birth daughter’s living conditions. She wants to manage appearances before the media gets involved.

Eun-a refuses to stay silent. She confronts her mother directly. She tells her not to pretend they share a close relationship. Furthermore, she declares that she will succeed on her own terms. She also warns Jeong-hui not to attach herself like a leech once that happens.

After the confrontation, Eun-a breaks down emotionally. She messages Dong-man and asks for help. Dong-man tries to reach her immediately, but communication fails. Meanwhile, Eun-a begins to suffer a nosebleed. Dong-man leaves work without hesitation. He rushes out to find and help her.

Episode 7 of We Are All Trying Here feels like a breath of fresh air after the heavy and emotional episodes the series has brought so far. It is good to see Dong-man and Gyeong-se being warm to each other, as the previous episode implied they were best friends before. Dong-man admitting in front of everyone that he likes Eun-a is top-tier. Moreover, Mi-ran talking about how Dong-man rejected her is just too funny to watch.

Catch the next episodes of We Are All Trying Here on Netflix. It airs every Saturday and Sunday at 10:40 PM KST or 9:40 PM PHT.
