Jin-man returns unexpectedly. Dong-man had believed Jin-man went to harvest cabbage, but he was wrong. As a result, tension fills the room.
The three sit down to eat. The atmosphere turns awkward. Jin-man breaks the silence and asks Eun-a about her purpose in life. Meanwhile, both Dong-man and Eun-a’s watches glow red. The moment feels heavy and uncertain.
Eun-a finally speaks. She says she wants to become a strong mother. Furthermore, she wants to stay calm even when everything around her collapses. Her words mirror her own emotional struggles. Hearing this, Jin-man softens. He signs a poetry book for her. In addition, he writes a message wishing her strength as a future mother.
Dong-man Saves Jin-man
Hye-jin confronts Gyeong-se about his writing. She criticizes his scripts for feeling outdated and rigid. Furthermore, she pushes him to seek help. She believes Eun-a can revive his work and modernize his style.
That evening, Eun-a faces an emotional setback. Jeong-hui calls her and uses her old name, Si-on. She also calls herself Eun-a’s mother. Eun-a reacts immediately and hangs up. However, the call unsettles her for the rest of the night.

Despite this, Jin-man leaves for work again the next day. His behavior hints at deeper struggles. Moreover, the episode reveals more of his past depression.
Earlier references to Yeong-sil resurface, but a new truth emerges. Jin-man has a daughter he never knew he had. She was adopted without his knowledge after his divorce. Jeong-hui remains unaware that her ex-husband has already passed away. Still, Eun-a refuses to accept her explanations. She brings up her own hardships and sets a condition. She tells Jeong-hui to stay silent about her existence. In addition, she promises to do the same.
Flashbacks reveal more of their strained history. Jeong-hui appears harsh and emotionally abusive toward Eun-a before she left. Later, Jeong-hui wins an award for her latest film. She delivers a speech dedicated to mothers and daughters with imperfect relationships. As she leaves the stage, she twists her ankle.
Unknown Becomes “Help Me”
Dong-man visits Ximfit for an assessment. A worker reviews his data and flags a pattern. She explains that his emotion reading labeled “unknown” appears repeatedly. Furthermore, she links both recorded cases to moments when Dong-man stopped Jin-man from attempting suicide.
The worker then introduces another case. She says Eun-a also shows the same “unknown” emotion. In addition, she explains Eun-a’s history of abandonment as a child. The system interprets her emotional pattern as “self-destructive.”
Dong-man rejects that label. He reframes it immediately. He calls it a “cry for help.” Moreover, he renames it as “help me.” After the session, Dong-man and Eun-a stay quiet for a while. The weight of the information settles between them. Eventually, they break the silence and hug.
