6ENSE wins Rising Boy Group of the Year at the 11th PPOP Music Awards and joins OG P-Pop act Chicser for a surprise collaboration, marking a milestone in their rising journey.
On October 18, P-Pop boy group 6ENSE took home the Rising Boy Group of the Year award, one of the major recognitions at the 11th edition of the annual PPOP Music Awards. Held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the awards night brought together Filipino artists to celebrate local music and the culture that unites them.
For the six-member group, performing at the Big Dome was already a milestone worth celebrating. However, winning Rising Boy Group of the Year made the night even more memorable, motivating the group to continue pushing their boundaries as they pursue their dreams.
6ENSE shared the honor with their fans, ESENSE, recognizing their unwavering support as one of the biggest reasons behind the group’s continued journey toward stardom. Following the award presentation, 6ENSE performed a new version of their single “Piliin Mo Ako” before surprising the crowd with their unreleased track, “Kitang Kita Kita,” featuring OG P-Pop boy group Chicser.
2026: A Year of Growth for 6ENSE
This year has been a busy stretch for 6ENSE (pronounce as sixth sense), with numerous gigs, event invitations, growing music streams, and an expanding fan base. With an equally packed schedule and new music on the line, the group considers their recent recognition a blessing amid the demands and pressures of being self-producing artists.
On February 6, the group celebrated its first anniversary by releasing “BWAN,” a stylized spelling of the Filipino word buwan, meaning moon. The song serves as a tribute to their fans, who believed in the group even before their rising journey began. Its title also carries a meaningful message: without the letter “U,” representing their fans, ESENSE, the group would not be where it is today.
Midway through the year, 6ENSE released “Piliin Mo Ako,” a comeback single written by member Wiji. Beyond its catchy sound, the song also offers political commentary, showcasing the group’s willingness to explore socially relevant themes through their music.
In October, the group released “11:11” under Star Music. Written and produced by Kiko Salazar, the track marks another addition to their growing discography as they continue to establish their identity in the P-Pop scene.
Bridging Two Generations of P-Pop
The collaboration between 6ENSE and Chicser delivered a full-circle moment at the ceremony, bringing together two generations of P-Pop artists on the Big Dome stage. The performance also marked Chicser’s return to the music scene, making the collaboration particularly meaningful for longtime fans.
The two groups joined forces for “Kitang Kita Kita,” an unreleased collaboration written by 6ENSE member Wiji. The song came to life after RS Francisco approached Wiji with the idea of creating a track centered on friendship.
Despite their busy schedules, Chicser accepted the invitation and worked closely with 6ENSE to bring the collaboration to life. Although the OG P-Pop group did not perform with its complete lineup, the appearance sparked excitement among fans eager to see what lies ahead for Chicser’s return.
6ENSE expressed their gratitude to Chicser for trusting them and working alongside them on the project. In return, the veteran group praised the younger artists for their talent, work ethic, and professionalism, highlighting their respectful attitude throughout the collaboration. Chicser even shared that they had become fans of 6ENSE themselves.
Adding to the night’s memorable moments, Chicser also received the PPOP Frontier Award in recognition of their contributions to the local P-Pop scene.
Bigger Aspirations for 6ENSE
With their Big Dome goal now achieved, 6ENSE hopes to take their performances to even bigger stages and audiences in the future, including the SM Mall of Asia Arena and potentially the Philippine Arena.
For now, their Rising Boy Group of the Year win stands as a significant milestone in their journey, recognizing their artistry, hard work, and growing influence in the industry. More than an award, the achievement opens another chapter for 6ENSE as they continue to reach for bigger stages, create meaningful music, and build lasting connections with their fans.
