Girls' Generation Reunites for 2027 Season's Greetings: “Twenty in Frost”

Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun are back to share their 2027 season’s greetings. Dressed in white and looking as angelic as ever, these women prove Girls’ Generation is as timeless as ever.

If the unexpected Hyorisoo sub-unit wasn’t enough to tease Sones, Girls’ Generation reunited for SM Entertainment’s 2027 season’s greetings as a full eight-member group. Entitled “Twenty Years Frost,” the images read like teasers for the group’s already-announced 20th-anniversary comeback.

The members all wear long, dark hair and white dresses. Their similar hairstyles recall their “Gee” era, when the group’s “Bermuda Triangle”—Yuri, Yoona, and Seohyun—looked like identical triplets. All eight women look as youthful as ever, making it hard to believe they’re about to celebrate 20 years in the K-Pop industry.

The images capture the members in a wintry wonderland, looking as beautiful as they did in their heyday. An accompanying video also shows Taeyeon and Tiffany rolling crystal balls as Hyoyeon and Yuri place glass cherries atop a frosted cake. Sooyoung and Seohyun exchange presents and gossip, while Yoona and Sunny pass around a glass apple that’s fairly reminiscent of the chrome apple in their “You Think” music video.

An earlier post features an icy blue envelope with a picture of all members lined up on the seal flap. The back flap reads: “A little world is waiting inside, filled with memories, wishes, and moments made for us.”

The Latest OT8 Reunion

The last time all eight members reunited was during SM Entertainment’s 30th anniversary, when the group covered The Grace’s 2006 hit ballad, “My Everything.”

In 2022, Girls’ Generation became one of the first groups to reunite all eight official members after some left their original agency. Sooyoung, Tiffany, and Seohyun left SM Entertainment in 2017, but the group officially made a complete comeback for their 15th anniversary release, “Forever 1.” These images also mark the group’s first reunion since Yuri left SM Entertainment last August.

Girls’ Generation Turns 20 in 2027

SM Entertainment and the group’s official pages and online channels have not yet announced official plans for Girls’ Generation’s 20th-anniversary comeback. However, when Yuri appeared on Yeon-koung’s official YouTube Channel, she mentioned that they’re already preparing for a possible world tour.

Girls’ Generation’s 2027 season’s greetings, “Twenty Years Frost,” marks the first time all eight members appeared in the promotional images since 2017. They also serve as unofficial teasers for the group’s 20th-anniversary comeback in August 2027.
