The Lost One, the Lover, and the Believer in Ticket to Heaven Episode 2

Ticket to Heaven episode 2 opens with the aftermath of the swimming pool incident. Kongkit receives punishment for his actions. However, Barth and Tanrak also face consequences because they failed to report what happened. Father Arnon expresses his disappointment in Tanrak and urges him to take his role as Barth’s mentor more seriously.

Meanwhile, Master Phak reaches out to Barth. Since he is only a few years older than the students, he approaches the situation with a lighter touch. He offers his friendship and encourages Barth to connect with the other boys as well.

Following Father Arnon’s advice, Tanrak invites Barth to join him for lunch. Kongdech and Ryu immediately tease the pair, but Barth handles the jokes with ease. In fact, he seems more amused by Tanrak’s concern that the teasing might have gone too far.

Later, during class, Barth finds another excuse to stay close to Tanrak. He claims that he cannot see the board properly and asks to switch seats. Although reluctant, Kongdech eventually agrees and gives up his place beside Tanrak.

After school, Barth comes across Tanrak praying. Tanrak asks for forgiveness over the incident involving the missing bag. Seeing this, Barth feels guilty about what happened. Tanrak then jokes that Barth can make things right by earning good grades. In response, Barth insists that Tanrak tutor him, arguing that friends should help each other. The comment catches Tanrak off guard, and he playfully questions when they became friends.

During their study session, Barth once again bends the rules. He sneaks out to buy snacks despite the seminary’s restrictions. Tanrak advises him to resist temptation, but Barth laughs off the suggestion and follows his cravings anyway. In addition, their conversation turns to a classroom discussion about the Lost One, the Lover, and the Believer.

Barth and Tanrak’s Growing Friendship

As Christmas approaches, the seminary requires all scholarship students to join group activities. Barth wants to stay close to Tanrak, so he convinces him to lie about their preferences. As a result, they end up in the same choir group. Although Tanrak feels annoyed by the scheme, he cannot help but enjoy watching Barth’s audition.

Later, while cleaning, the two discover a love song with a title that closely resembles Tanrak’s name. This leads Tanrak to share the story behind it. He explains that his name represents Mother Mary’s love. Furthermore, he reveals that he often visits her statue whenever he misses his mother. Barth listens quietly and offers to accompany him the next time he goes. The gesture clearly touches Tanrak.

Meanwhile, Barth and Tanrak spend more time together. Their growing friendship begins to affect Tanrak’s relationship with Kongdech. As Tanrak focuses more on Barth, Kongdech starts to feel left out and increasingly jealous.

One day, Tanrak’s childhood friends, Cherry and Oh, visit the seminary for Mass. Barth immediately becomes curious and wonders whether Tanrak ever had romantic feelings for either of them. However, Tanrak has something else on his mind. He learns that his childhood home has been demolished and replaced by a 7-Eleven store.

The news leaves him heartbroken. Later, he sits alone and practices the piano. By this point, Barth has started building friendships with the other students. Even so, he leaves the group when he notices Tanrak’s mood and goes to check on him.

Their conversation soon turns to music. Through it, Barth opens up about feeling like an outsider. He admits that he still struggles to find where he belongs within the seminary community. In addition, the pair begin playing the love song they found earlier. The music accompanies a montage of Barth slowly settling into seminary life.

Tanrak’s Faith and Desire

As Barth settles into seminary life, Tanrak finds himself thinking about him more often. One night, Master Phak catches the pair talking after lights out. As punishment, they must write down the names of saints mentioned throughout the cemetery. The task quickly turns chaotic. Barth spends most of the time teasing Tanrak. He tries to scare him, casually compliments him, and repeatedly suggests breaking the rules. In contrast, Tanrak remains cautious and nervous.

Nevertheless, Tanrak agrees to help Barth sneak out for snacks. He waits for him and even helps him climb over a wall. However, the brief physical contact leaves Tanrak unexpectedly shaken.

For the first time, he begins to recognize that his feelings for Barth may be more than friendship. Later, the two share the snacks together. The situation becomes even more awkward when Tanrak catches himself staring at Barth. Realizing what he is doing only makes him more flustered.

On the way back, Tanrak stops for a bathroom break. Barth follows him, and Tanrak struggles to act normally around him. The growing attraction becomes increasingly difficult to ignore. Before they return to the dormitory, Barth revisits their earlier discussion about the Lost One, the Lover, and the Believer. He confidently declares that the Lost One always tells the truth.

That night, Tanrak lies awake unable to sleep. His thoughts repeatedly drift back to Barth. As his emotions intensify, he becomes overwhelmed and leaves the dormitory. Barth notices his distress and watches him go with concern.

Alone in the bathroom, Tanrak tries to calm himself. However, the conflict between his religious beliefs and his growing attraction continues to weigh heavily on him. In the end, he isolates himself in the cubicle, struggling to reconcile the feelings he can no longer deny.

Ticket to Heaven episode 2 deepens Barth and Tanrak’s relationship with a mix of heartfelt moments, playful banter, and growing emotional tension. The episode effectively explores Tanrak’s internal struggle as his feelings for Barth begin to clash with the beliefs he has held his entire life. By the end, the series delivers one of its most compelling developments yet, setting up an emotional conflict that promises major consequences moving forward.
