This Is Me Breathing releases a powerful new track “Serenity in Suffering,” drumming excitement for their upcoming full-length album of the same name.
On March 13, Missouri deathcore band This Is Me Breathing released “Serenity in Suffering,” a precursor to their full-length album out on June 26. Though powered by anxiety, the track is precise and punishing. It cracks down on all sides while still retaining a sense of refinement.

In search of happy endings
“Serenity in Suffering” has been a long time coming, recorded and mixed at Sicktones Studios back in April 2024. Deft hands were involved in its creation, having been engineered by Jack Daniels and Elisha Mullins and mastered by Jeff Dunne.
True to its name, the band says the song is “about finding acceptance that not all things have a happy ending.” They cite The God Delusion by Charles Dawkins as one of their influences. The book famously argues that a supernatural God does not exist, and that morality can exist without religion.
Their upcoming album, also titled Serenity in Suffering, promises more of this fine-tuned sound. Every member went above and beyond during the writing process. Sonically, this album is expected to showcase This Is Me Breathing at their best and most intense, grueling yet intentional.
