Salasa unveils “Sobaniite,” a soulful R&B track that captures autumn’s bittersweet mood through jazzy melodies and wistful vocals.
Japanese singer-songwriter Salasa released her new single “Sobaniite” on October 14, following her major-label debut with the EP Live Bluesy in August. The track blends soulful R&B with jazzy melodies and wistful vocals, creating a gentle sound that captures autumn’s bittersweet atmosphere.
“Sobaniite” showcases Salasa’s signature blend of soul, R&B, and jazz influences. Its mellow groove and melancholic vocals evoke the quiet beauty of autumn as leaves begin to fall. Moreover, the track reflects her ability to transform complex emotions into music that feels both intimate and relatable.
Salasa builds her artistic identity around “Live Bluesy,” a phrase she coined to describe her approach to life and creativity. Inspired by the blues and its roots in sadness and struggle, the concept encourages her to embrace vulnerability rather than hide it. She channels difficult experiences into creative expression, giving her music an honest and deeply personal quality.
Her sound also draws from rock and other genres. Furthermore, her free-spirited style reflects her upbringing in Japan’s coastal Shonan region, where the breeze and laid-back atmosphere helped shape her artistic perspective.
A Growing Presence Beyond Japan
Salasa has steadily expanded her audience through music releases and live performances. In 2025, she released “Thinking of You” and “Aoi taiyou,” followed by the Thinking of You TOUR 2025 across Japan. “Thinking of You” has since surpassed 2.1 million YouTube views from audiences outside Japan, highlighting her growing international appeal.
In 2026, she performed a solo show in Taipei before releasing Live Bluesy in August. The EP’s lead track, “Kaze ni Naru,” reached No. 2 on SAISON CARD TOKIO HOT 100. The song also earned widespread attention through radio and podcast features, while Salasa received recognition as the official ambassador for Japan’s Record Day 2026.
With “Sobaniite,” Salasa continues to explore the connection between emotion and music. The new single invites listeners to experience her soulful, introspective sound as autumn unfolds.
