From cultural experiences and exclusive travel deals to star-studded programs, Korea Travel Fiesta 2026 opens a winter playground for Filipino travelers.
For Filipinos dreaming of snowy streets and k-drama life, a little piece of Korea has arrived again in Manila for Korea Travel Fiesta 2026. Hosted by Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) Manila Office, the event welcomed visitors to its opening ceremony on August 22, 2026 at the SM Mall of Asia.
Held under the theme “Your Winter Playground,” the two-day event brought together travel, culture, entertainment, and lifestyle experiences, offering visitors a glimpse of what awaits beyond South Korea’s familiar sights. Through its winter-themed atmosphere, interactive displays, and immersive activities, the fiesta highlighted the country’s diverse experiences and attractions.
Star-studded opening ceremony
One of the main events in the first day was the grand opening ceremony featuring a star-studded lineup of Korean and Filipino guests and performers, who brought in a steady stream of visitors.
Welcoming the crowd, KTO Director Park Young Hee emphasized the growing ties between Korea and the Philippines, noting that around two million Koreans and Filipinos travel between the two countries each year. Meanwhile, SM Supermalls Executive Vice President for Marketing Joaquin San Agustin delivered his congratulatory remarks, highlighting their partnership in bringing Korean experiences closer to Filipino audiences.
Adding to the excitement, Former WannaOne and CIX member Bae Jin Young joined the opening ceremony. The K-Pop singer graced the stage with “Round&Round” and “Songs ‘bout U,” giving a mini concert for fans that had been waiting for him. He also shared some travel tips and recommendations, including his favorite foods.
Filipino television personality and host Melai Cantiveros-Francisco together with her husband Jason and their two daughters Mela and Stella joined the festivities as KTO’s Honorary Ambassador for Korea Family Tourism in the Philippines, inviting future travelers that Korea is the top and perfect destination for families. Members of the KTO’s K-Creators Club like Cj Galsim and RM Enrico are also present to share their experiences and insights in exploring Korea’s top travel destinations, culture, and lifestyle
The event also showcased Korea’s rich performing arts and tradition as the Korea Taekwondo Association mesmerized the crowd with their artistic demonstration. The internationally acclaimed Korean performance group NANTA delivered a unique blend of comedy and entertainment through a largely nonverbal performance. Bringing high-energy performances, BANK TWO BROTHERS from Street Man Fighter brought their groove to Manila stage.
A taste of Korea
Beyond the performances, visitors were surrounded by different interactive booths and immersive activities across Music Hall and Central Atrium. From travel destinations, cultural experiences, and lifestyle attractions, the event provides various experiences for everyone to try. The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) evokes the feeling of walking through the Joseon Dynasty by giving guests the opportunity to try on Hanbok, Korea’s traditional attire, and capture their Korea-inspired look through Life4Cuts photo booth, a perfect keepsake from the event.
The event also brought together 24 industry partners, including travel agencies, online travel operators, airlines, ski resorts, and financial institutions, providing Filipino visitors with direct access to travel information, packages, promotions, and services to plan their next Korean trip. Assistance on Korea Visa application was offered to visitors through the Korea Visa Application Center (KVAC), while partner banks introduced credit card programs and benefits that may help simplify the visa application process for eligible travelers.
Held on August 22–23 with free admission, the Korea Travel Fiesta 2026 offered Filipinos more than a temporary escape from the tropical heat. It provided a glimpse of Korea’s landscapes, culture, and experiences, reminding visitors that their next Korean adventure can begin even before the flight takes off.
