Acclaimed Latin vocalist, percussionist, and songwriter Anthony Almonte has released his new single “Rompecorazones” via Wicked Cool Records. “Rompecorazones, which literally means heartbreaker, begins with a beautiful, unfolding melody that tells the story of a love powerful enough to transform you,” Almonte said. “The song then erupts into an explosive burst of salsa energy, and Alexander Abreu helped bring that intensity and sensibility.”

The single follows “Imagínate Conmigo,” featuring Ronald Borjas, and continues the rollout for an album that includes collaborations with Stevie Van Zandt, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, and Gilberto Santa Rosa. The project explores themes of love, vulnerability, and transformation, anchored in salsa while expanding into broader global influences.

Finally, the world will get to experience the full range of Anthony’s multiple talents. Something we’ve known about in the Disciples of Soul and the E Street Band for quite a while now. We are proud to welcome him to the Wicked Cool Family, said Stevie Van Zandt

Born in New York City, Almonte began studying percussion at an early age after discovering Puerto Rican rhythms through family trips. He has performed with artists including Wynton Marsalis and Eddie Palmieri. He is currently touring with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. With Conversando Con La Luna, Almonte positions himself at the intersection of tradition and modern Latin fusion.

The rollout has also drawn attention from major music publications. This includes a recent Rolling Stone feature highlighting Almonte’s genre-crossing approach and his growing profile in both Latin and global music scenes. Additional contributors on the upcoming album include Marc Quiñones, Charlie Giordano, Jeremy Bosch, and Carlos Henriquez. This further reinforces the project’s multi-generational collaboration and orchestral depth.

Conversando Con La Luna arrives May 15 via Wicked Cool Records.
