Luna Shadows is embracing a brighter side of herself with “gutspill,” her latest single and the first glimpse into a new musical era. The Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter trades some of her usual atmospheric melancholy for crunchy guitars, dreamy electronics, and layered vocals.
The track draws from the emotional urgency of early-2000s alternative music. It also carries the raw energy of Midwest emo and pop-punk. Shadows co-wrote and co-produced the song with Chris Freeman of Hot Mulligan, bringing a fresh edge to her signature sound.

A New Chapter for Luna Shadows
Shadows has spent the past decade building her own space within alternative pop. She writes and produces from her bedroom in Los Angeles, where she creates richly layered songs that blend electronic textures with intimate songwriting.
Her musical journey started early. A classically trained pianist, Shadows began writing songs at eight years old. She later attended LaGuardia High School as a vocal major before moving to California and pursuing music professionally.
Since then, she has amassed more than 60 million streams. Her work has also earned coverage from Billboard, NYLON, W Magazine, PAPER, Wonderland Magazine, and LADYGUNN. Beyond her solo career, she has worked as a songwriter, producer, and engineer for other artists. She has also composed and produced music for video games.
