Eui-ju Tried to Avoid Woo-su in Absolute Value of Romance Episode 8
Absolute Value of Romance episode 8 opens with Woo-su rushing Eui-ju to the hospital. He panics after she collapses, and doctors take her into emergency care. Meanwhile, he waits outside, visibly shaken.
Later, the doctor reassures him that Eui-ju is fine. Woo-su asks what caused it and feels stunned. The doctor explains that she fainted due to constipation. Eui-ju feels deeply embarrassed and tells Woo-su to leave her alone. Soon after, her parents arrive. Eui-ju asks them to transfer her to another school. She wants to avoid facing Woo-su after the incident.

Back at the house, Da-ju apologizes to Woo-su. He admits he forced Eui-ju to film without consent. Woo-su snaps back, and they argue. However, Dong-ju and Gi-jeon notice a shift. The tension between them starts to ease. Elsewhere, Eui-ju lies in bed and reflects on Woo-su. She drifts into a brief fantasy about him. However, she catches herself and falls asleep.
The next morning, Eui-ju tries to avoid Woo-su on her way to the bus stop. He stops her anyway and brings up her diagnosis and gives blunt advice. He tells her to exercise, sleep properly, and cut back on fast food. Eui-ju brushes him off, but the other teachers arrive. They tease her about her condition. In that moment, she realizes something important. Da-ju never knew her real secret. Woo-su kept her identity as a BL novelist private.
After the morning assembly, Woo-su calls Eui-ju aside. He notices Ji-a’s continued absence. Moreover, he asks Eui-ju to befriend her and encourage her to attend class. He then deducts more of Eui-ju’s merit points as punishment for Ji-a’s absence. In class, Eui-ju discusses Ji-a with Jennie. Jennie describes Ji-a as distant.
However, Eui-ju disagrees. She defends Ji-a and explains her behavior. She believes Ji-a is simply introverted and misunderstood.
Woo-su Let Eui-ju Write Her Own Novel
Elsewhere, Dong-ju announces a poetry and art competition in class. He selects Eui-ju for poetry and Go-ya for art. Furthermore, he encourages them to represent their class with confidence.
Later, Dong-ju finds Eui-ju cleaning after school. She works to regain merit points that Woo-su keeps deducting. They start talking. The conversation shifts from Woo-su to Dong-ju’s own passion for writing. He shares his story openly. Eui-ju listens closely and feels inspired. Moreover, she decides to apply his advice. She plans to develop her characters with more depth and personality.

Meanwhile, Go-ya notices them together. She watches their interaction and grows jealous. That night, Eui-ju writes the next chapter of her novel. She waits for Woo-su to review it. However, she keeps his character the same—rich and arrogant.
Elsewhere, Woo-su heads to the library while the others go home. He reads her latest chapter in silence. Instead of criticizing, he reflects. Later, he makes a decision. He chooses to step back. On his way home, he meets Eui-ju and tells her she can write the story however she wants. His words catch her off guard. She stands there, surprised, as the episode ends.
Episode 8 of Absolute Value of Romance shifts the dynamic between Eui-ju and Woo-su as he lets her decide what to write next in her novel. In that moment, she sees a different side of him.
