Eui-ju has no choice but to attend the math after-class program in Absolute Value of Romance episode 5. Meanwhile, Woo-su discovers her novel.

On April 24, Absolute Value of Romance episode 5 premiered on Coupang Play and Prime Video. This episode focuses on Eui-ju and the math after-class sessions she needs to attend as Woo-su’s punishment for her actions in the previous episode. Episode 5 also shows that Woo-su has now learned about Eui-ju’s novel and her pen name.

Eui-ju’s Math After Class in Absolute Value of Romance Episode 5

Absolute Value of Romance episode 5 opens with the teachers sharing breakfast before school. Dong-ju speaks with Woo-su about Eui-ju and criticizes his strict approach toward her.

Furthermore, the teachers discuss the after-school program. Woo-su finally receives his recovered glasses. Da-ju and Gi-jeon encourage him to thank the person who returned them, since the situation caused him trouble.

On her way to school, Eui-ju reads comments on her BL story. Go-ya asks to read it as well. However, she criticizes the BL genre. Eui-ju feels insecure and lies to her about the story.

Meanwhile, Eui-ju submits her application to Woo-su, though she feels reluctant. Gi-jeon tries to argue with Woo-su to keep Eui-ju available for PE. However, he backs down after learning she struggles in math and needs extra help.

During PE class, Go-ya tells Eui-ju that she plans to confess to Dong-ju when she turns 20. She also admits she likes him because she finds him pitiful, which makes him more appealing to her.

At the closing assembly, Woo-su reminds Eui-ju about her after-school class and cleaning duty. In addition, Jennie invites Eui-ju, Go-ya, and other classmates to a sleepover at her house.

After school, Eui-ju helps Gi-jeon clean the basketball court. She also talks to him about his back injury. Later, she grows upset when Woo-su prevents her from attending Gi-jeon’s extra classes. Finally, Woo-su calls her. Eui-ju has no choice but to rush to math extra class.

Woo-su Saw Eui-ju’s Novel

Eui-ju learns she has the lowest grades in class. She decides to leave. However, Woo-su finds her outside and drags her back to the classroom.

In class, Eui-ju notices Ha-su’s crush on Woo-su. She grows bored and falls asleep. Furthermore, she dreams about her next novel chapter. Woo-su catches her sleeping and gets angry. He assigns her homework as punishment.

Absolute Value of Romance Episode 5

After class, Eui-ju goes to Jennie’s house for a sleepover. She asks Jennie to roast potatoes together. During their conversation, Eui-ju brings up Jennie’s supposed Brazilian boyfriend. She also mentions the web novel A Night in Paris, which Jennie used to create her story.

Jennie denies having any boyfriend. She explains that she learned Korean through web novels. The girls bond over their shared love for reading. However, Eui-ju keeps her BL writing a secret.

That night, the girls stargaze together. Suddenly, Eui-ju remembers her math homework. She refuses to do it.

The next day, she tells Woo-su she did not complete it. Woo-su scolds her for not even trying. He feels disappointed in her. Eui-ju questions why he reacts so emotionally to her homework.

Later that evening, she writes at the library. She creates a bold and graphic new chapter. However, she freezes when she notices Woo-su behind her. Episode 5 ends with Woo-su reading her story.

Episode 5 of Absolute Value of Romance centers on Eui-ju and her self-doubt after seeing the students in the math after-class program. At some point, Woo-su may simply be pushing Eui-ju to reach her full potential. He might have seen something in her. In addition, the episode ends on a cliffhanger when Woo-su discovers Eui-ju’s novel.
