Oswald Slain unveils “Jaguar,” a slow-burning, reflective single that embraces patience and introspection ahead of his second studio album in 2027.

Oswald Slain will release “Jaguar” on November 13, 2026, marking the first single from his upcoming second studio album, scheduled for 2027. The track introduces a more measured pace while preserving the gritty rock sound and thoughtful songwriting that define his music.

Blending classic Americana with fuzz-drenched rock, Oswald Slain draws inspiration from artists such as Neil Young and The Band. At the center of the project, songwriter Charlie Fitzgerald balances sincerity with humor and introspection with a sense of fun.

Recorded with Stew Jackson of Massive Attack and mastered by Jason Mitchell at Loud Mastering, whose credits include PJ Harvey, XTC, and Big Special, “Jaguar” takes a slow-burning approach. Fitzgerald wrote the song while navigating an unhappy situation that felt almost as difficult to leave as it was to endure. Rather than rushing toward a resolution, he used the songwriting process to embrace uncertainty and give himself time to reflect.

“Everything is so quick and my attention span is fried,” Fitzgerald explains.

He also reflects on how modern life encourages people to constantly seek the next thing instead of appreciating the present. In contrast, “Jaguar” favors simplicity and patience. Its understated arrangement invites listeners to look beyond immediate distractions and discover meaning at their own pace.

A Year of Live Performances

The upcoming single follows a busy year on the live circuit. Oswald Slain performed with his full band at Shambala, The Great Estate, Kendal Calling, and Wilderness Festival. In March 2026, he also played three shows across Manhattan’s Lower East Side as part of New York’s New Colossus Festival.

Furthermore, the artist received an unexpected opportunity to headline Germany’s U&D Festival, accepting the invitation just four days before the event. His performance on the main stage marked another milestone in a growing year of live appearances.

With “Jaguar,”Oswald Slain shifts his focus from constant movement to quiet reflection. The single sets the tone for his next album while reminding listeners that sometimes, taking a step back can be just as important as moving forward.

Stream “Jaguar” on November 13 and let Oswald Slain’s introspective new single remind you to slow down and embrace the moment.
