SOUMA and TAIKI reunite for “ONE WHO GLOWS,” a three-song rap medley that celebrates their journey from competitive trainees to established artists.
Before the stages, debut dates, and group names, ONE OR EIGHT’s SOUMA and STARGLOW’s TAIKI shared the same starting point. They trained together, competed against each other, and constantly pushed one another to improve. Now, after taking separate paths as artists, the two have reunited for a special beat-jack session titled “ONE WHO GLOWS,” now available on YouTube.
SOUMA and TAIKI first crossed paths as trainees. Their training years brought plenty of competition, but that rivalry also helped them grow. Both continued chasing the same dream until they eventually made their respective debuts.
Today, SOUMA performs with the eight-member global boy group ONE OR EIGHT, while TAIKI represents the five-member group STARGLOW. Although their careers took them in different directions, their shared history remained. That connection eventually inspired “ONE WHO GLOWS,” a three-song rap medley that looks at their journey from aspiring performers to established artists.
The session does more than revisit their trainee days. SOUMA and TAIKI use the music to reflect on the challenges they faced and the determination that carried them forward. Moreover, their performances highlight the years of experience they gained along the way.
A Reunion Built on Chemistry
“ONE WHO GLOWS” gives both artists an opportunity to step outside their usual group settings. With a stripped-back beat, their individual flows, delivery, and writing take the spotlight. As a result, the session feels less like a conventional collaboration and more like an exchange between two artists who know each other’s journey firsthand.
For SOUMA, the project transforms years of shared memories into something tangible. Meanwhile, TAIKI gets to reconnect with someone who understands the early stages of his career. Their chemistry comes naturally because both artists experienced the same demanding road before reaching the spotlight.
The reunion also arrives as both groups enter significant new chapters. ONE OR EIGHT released their first EP, “EN-GÏNE,” on September 16 and continues its activities with showcases across Asia, including Singapore, Manila, and Bangkok. The group is also set to embark on a 47-prefecture fan-meeting tour across Japan.
Meanwhile, STARGLOW will release its first album, “Aurora,” on November 18. The group has also announced its first arena tour for 2027, covering seven cities and 14 shows.
With “ONE WHO GLOWS,” SOUMA and TAIKI prove that the encouragement they shared as trainees continues to shape their artistic journeys today.
