Kakie is back with a new story to tell. The Filipino singer-songwriter, also known as Frankie Pangilinan, released her latest single “Kontrabida” on September 4 under Curve Entertainment, marking a fresh addition to her growing catalog of personal, story-driven songs.
For anyone just discovering her, kakie has been releasing music since 2019, when she debuted with “tyl,” a track produced by Eraserheads frontman Ely Buendia. She later expanded her sound and songwriting through the 2021 EP abOUT hER SPACE, which explored heartbreak, love, and fictional storytelling through her indie-pop lens.
Writing has always played a major role in kakie’s music.
