Rising OPM band It All Started in May celebrated their 2nd anniversary with an intimate event for fans in Cubao.
It All Started in May marks the start of their second year with a special event for fans. The one-night celebration titled Saan Nagsimula? Ikalawang Anibersaryo! happened on May 29 at The Millas Cafe in Cubao, Quezon City.
Since their debut in 2024, the group has quickly become a favorite among indie circles. From covers to original songs, their musical strength lies in blending the nostalgic ’70s with a modern flair. Their unique sound continues to captivate listeners nationwide, further adding to their steadily growing fanbase.
Besides their anniversary as a group, they also celebrated the first year of their debut single “O’ Kay Tamis.” It has now gained over 1 million Spotify streams, serving as another massive achievement for the quintet.
A Night to Remember
The exclusive event was filled with unforgettable performances from It All Started In May, as well as guests Ian Quiruz and Shirebound. Their Universal Records labelmates, brei and girl group FINA, later joined the celebration, including Heaven, who featured in their “Paraiso” music video.
What made the night even more special was the release of their latest single, “Di Ko Man Masambit,” which received warm praise. Immediately after, the track was included in Spotify’s New Music Friday Philippines, All New OPM, and .ph playlists.
Fans also received another gift by getting an early look at the “Paraiso” and “Di Ko Man Masambit” music videos before their June release. Both videos are now available on the Universal Records YouTube channel.
Only in their second year, and It All Started in May are already showing their rising popularity. Following the event, they were invited to the Honor 600 Series First Day Sale at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall, then headed to another gig at Jess & Pat’s the same day. The rest of their June was also packed with performances in Cavite, Katipunan, Mandaluyong, and Baguio. There’s no telling what’s next for the group, but bigger milestones are most likely on the horizon.
