Tanrak Tried to Distance Himself from Barth in Ticket to Heaven Episode 3

Ticket to Heaven episode 3 opens with Tanrak as he struggles with guilt and confusion. He feels lost and even hesitates to join Kongdech during the New Year break.

Meanwhile, Barth jokes about confession. He admits he does not attend confession even when he should. In contrast, he teases Tanrak by saying he probably does not need it because he never sins. Although it is meant as a joke, Tanrak feels hurt.

During the sermon, Father Arnon speaks about repentance and love. Furthermore, he asks whether all forms of love lead to God, leaving the students unsettled.

Later, Tanrak opens up about his fear of doing something wrong. Father Arnon reassures him that having feelings is not sinful. In addition, he reminds Tanrak that God understands him and that he should not avoid Him.

Barth notices Tanrak’s distance and tries to pull him back. He provokes him by playing tic-tac-toe on his thigh. At first, Tanrak resists, but he eventually relaxes. Later, they continue their playful teasing after PE when Tanrak stays behind to give Barth candy.

During choir preparations, students from other schools arrive. Barth accidentally spills juice on Cherry’s shirt. To fix the situation, he swaps shirts with her. Furthermore, Kongdech jokes that Barth and Cherry should play Joseph and the Virgin Mary in the Christmas play. Barth feels uncomfortable. Meanwhile, Tanrak reacts with clear jealousy, signaling the growing tension between them.

Barth’s Assurance to Tanrak

After class, Barth persuades Tanrak to go to the market with him. Kongdech notices their excuses, but the two still slip away together.

At the donut shop, the owner recognizes Tanrak. He quickly lies and says he is on church duty. The owner then mentions a wedding order. Barth offers to help pack the orders in exchange for extra donuts. However, they only receive one extra, so they split it between them.

Furthermore, Tanrak begins to relax and smile during their small adventure. Barth feels relieved to see him in a better mood. Later, Barth apologizes and blames himself for Tanrak’s earlier distance. Tanrak reassures him and says they are fine. They also admit that they consider each other their closest friend.

The next day, rumors spread about Barth and Cherry. The boys tease Barth and label him a womanizer, which immediately triggers Tanrak’s jealousy. The situation worsens when Cherry visits the school to speak with Barth.

Barth tries to lighten the mood by teasing Tanrak. However, Tanrak remains withdrawn as the gossip continues. He refuses to engage in their usual playful behavior, so Barth quietly helps him with his chores instead.

That night, Barth reassures Tanrak that nothing is going on with Cherry. He explains that she only invited him to join the Christmas play. Moreover, he refuses the offer unless Tanrak feels comfortable with it.

Tanrak pretends not to care and gives his approval. Still, he secretly feels happy that Barth asked for his opinion. On the first day of rehearsal, Barth finds a bicycle and gives Tanrak a ride. They joke along the way, and Tanrak enjoys the moment.

Later, Tanrak’s mood shifts when he sees Barth and Cherry acting overly playful during rehearsal. He fakes illness and leaves early. Even so, Tanrak leaves his umbrella for Barth. As he walks back to the dorm in the rain, he feels quietly defeated.

The Confession of God’s Unfavorable Sons

That night, Barth finds Tanrak alone in the empty shower area. He has heard that Tanrak feels unwell, so he checks on him. Tanrak stays distant at first, still stuck in his sulky mood. Barth breaks the tension by teasing him and tickling him, and the two quickly fall into a playful struggle. In the process, they end up holding each other.

Soon after, the lights go out. In the dimness, they lean in and nearly kiss. However, they pull apart when the other students suddenly arrive. For the first time, Barth looks shaken and turns away from Tanrak. When the lights return, Tanrak is no longer inside. Barth later notices him hiding in the corridor outside the shower room.

Barth stays behind even after the others leave. He asks Tanrak not to run away from his own feelings. Furthermore, he admits that he is not “God’s favourite son” because he is gay and he likes Tanrak.

Hearing this, Tanrak finally steps closer instead of pulling away. Barth leans in and kisses him. He hesitates afterward, afraid Tanrak might be angry. Instead, Tanrak responds honestly and says he is not God’s favourite son either. In the end, they give in to their feelings and stay together.

Ticket to Heaven episode 3 intensifies the emotional stakes by blending youthful playfulness with a slow build of jealousy and inner conflict. Barth and Tanrak’s dynamic becomes more charged as external rumors and personal insecurities start to shape how they see each other. The episode stands out for its shift in tone, ending on a bold and irreversible turning point in their relationship.
