Cassie tries to leave Maddy, but Maddy turns the tables in Euphoria Season 3 episode 5 and keeps Cassie wrapped around her finger.
Euphoria Season 3 episode 5, titled “The Little Piggy,” premiered on May 10 on HBO and HBO Max. The episode highlights Maddy’s growing control over Cassie. Even though Cassie attempts to leave her once again, Maddy manages to stay in control. Meanwhile, Rue gets herself into even deeper trouble with Alamo.

Maddy Outsmarts Cassie in Euphoria Season 3 Episode 5
Euphoria Season 3 episode 5 opens with Cassie fully committed to her online content career. After her video with Brandon goes viral, she gains 17,000 new subscribers in just one day.
Maddy pushes Cassie harder as the channel grows. Eventually, Cassie reaches 50,000 subscribers. Furthermore, Maddy helps shape her image around relatable “working-class” appeal. During a podcast interview, someone labels Cassie a Democrat. Cassie immediately laughs it off and responds bluntly.
Despite their strained relationship, Cassie still supports Nate financially. She secretly sends him $35,000 to stop his eviction. Meanwhile, Nate suddenly becomes supportive of her content career. However, Maddy grows suspicious of his motives.
Maddy warns Cassie that Nate may only care because he could legally claim half her earnings if her career explodes. At the same time, Brandon gains more influence over Cassie’s decisions. Brandon insists he contributes more to Cassie’s success than Maddy does. He downplays Maddy’s role and encourages Cassie to cut ties with her. Moreover, he promises access to professional editors and videographers to elevate her brand further.
Nate’s Problems Worsen
Elsewhere, Nate pushes Cassie deeper into the industry. He encourages her to film more provocative scenes with Brandon. He praises her success and calls her a winner, motivating her to keep making money.
Later, Cassie contacts Maddy and learns she still works as an assistant. Feeling superior, Cassie decides to separate from her. However, Maddy stays calm. She casually grabs Cassie’s phone and pretends to arrange an audition for LA Nights with Dylan.
Cassie quickly panics and claims she feels overwhelmed. That is when Maddy presents a contract. Without reading it carefully, Cassie immediately signs the final page.
However, Maddy reveals she never secured the audition in the first place. She had been bluffing the entire time. Ironically, Cassie still manages to talk her way into the studio because of her connection to Lexi. She even impresses the director, much to Lexi’s frustration. Meanwhile, Nate’s situation continues to collapse. He misses another payment to Naz. As a result, Naz sends his men to assault him once again.
Euphoria Season 3 Recap: Rue Falls Deeper Into Alamo’s Trap
Alamo prepares to strike back against Laurie and her crew. After the robbery at the safe, he wants revenge and demands the return of his drugs. Furthermore, he grows furious with Eddy, whom he now views as weak and disloyal.
Later, Alamo calls Rue for a private meeting. On the way, Bishop warns her that trouble seems to follow her everywhere. The meeting itself stays brief. Alamo simply tells Rue that Laurie wants to see her again.
Rue immediately reports this to the DEA. Agents pressure her to wiretap Laurie and gather evidence. Desperate for results, Rue contacts Wayne. Fortunately, he reveals that they recently recruited a new girl to work as a mule.
Elsewhere, Rue visits Jules that afternoon. Jules encourages her to relax and reconnect emotionally. However, things quickly become tense later that night when Ellis arrives. He notices Rue’s clothes and realizes Jules has crossed boundaries. As a result, Ellis warns Jules not to put his family at risk.
Back at the Silver Slipper, Magick discovers planted drugs inside her locker. Rue secretly placed them there under DEA instructions. However, Magick immediately realizes someone framed her and brings the evidence to Alamo.
Maddy and Alamo as Business Partners
Alamo starts connecting the dots. He questions Rue’s earlier claims about the robbery and grows suspicious when details no longer add up. In particular, he doubts her insistence that she could not recognize the robbers’ voices.
Meanwhile, Rue meets with Maddy to discuss possible business opportunities. Suddenly, Alamo arrives and pulls Rue away. He takes her outside with G and Bishop, then drives her to a remote area near his property. There, they forces Rue to dig a hole.
At the same time, Alamo sees potential in Maddy’s growing business connections. He proposes sending some of his girls to work with her in exchange for a 15% cut. Maddy chooses Kitty and Magick as the first girls she wants involved.
Elsewhere, Lexi finally delivers good news to Cassie. Despite her hesitation, she confirms that Cassie landed the role. Cassie reacts with excitement and immediately celebrates the opportunity.
Back at Alamo’s property, the situation turns terrifying. His men bury Rue up to her neck in dirt. As Alamo approaches on horseback, he appears ready to kill her, ending the episode on a brutal cliffhanger.
Euphoria Season 3 episode 5 shows how Cassie continues to choose fame, power, and popularity over friendship. She betrayed Maddy before, yet Maddy still helped her rebuild herself. However, Cassie ends up betraying her once again. At this point, that behavior feels completely in character for her.
Meanwhile, Nate now depends heavily on Cassie, despite creating most of the problems himself. Ironically, one of the most satisfying parts of the season is watching Nate and Cassie become trapped in the consequences of their own choices.
