Big D and the Kids Table release “Right Now,” delivering a high-energy anthem ahead of upcoming album The Good Ole American Saturday Night.
Boston ska-punk veterans Big D and the Kids Table have returned with their new single “Right Now.” The high-energy track reinforces the band’s long-standing message of optimism and connection. The release arrives ahead of their upcoming album The Good Ole American Saturday Night. It is due out June 12 via SideOneDummy Records.

Following their previous single “Whiplash,” “Right Now” delivers a full-throttle blend of punchy horns, driving rhythms, and chant-ready hooks. The track captures the band’s signature sound while pushing a timely message about choosing joy and embracing the present. Frontman David McWane described the song as a call to action. Additionally, he encourages listeners to “launch your positive self now” and lean into love and optimism despite ongoing challenges.
The music video for “Right Now” premiered live on YouTube on April 30. This gave fans a chance to join the band in real time through a live chat. Directed and edited by Craig Shannon, with animation by Empire Animate, the video mirrors the band’s live energy. It features a packed, high-intensity performance space filled with fans. Furthermore, this highlights the sense of community that has defined Big D and the Kids Table’s shows for decades.
According to McWane, the video was inspired by a near impromptu gathering that drew a large, enthusiastic crowd. The result captures the band’s essence, from stage diving to shared moments of joy among fans.
Meanwhile, the upcoming album, produced by Joe Gittleman of The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Matt Appleton of Reel Big Fish, promises a continuation of that spirit. With more than 30 years in the scene, Big D and the Kids Table remain committed to creating music that brings people together.
“Right Now” is currently available for streaming, offering an energetic preview of what fans can expect from the band’s next chapter.
