Belvedere return with “Crimson,” previewing Seven Years of Bad Luck, a sharp, evolving melodic hardcore album arriving June 19 via Thousand Islands Records.
Calgary’s technical punk veterans Belvedere return with their seventh full-length album, Seven Years of Bad Luck, set for release on June 19 via Thousand Islands Records. After three decades of shaping melodic hardcore, the band shows no signs of slowing down. Instead, they continue to evolve with precision and intensity. Moreover, the new record follows a demanding run of global tours, proving their energy remains sharp and focused.
The 11-track album captures a band that refuses to stay still. It delivers urgency, technical skill, and a restless drive to push forward. Additionally, Belvedere builds on their signature sound while exploring new emotional depth.
The lead single, “Crimson,” is now available to stream. It offers a strong preview of the album’s tone and direction. Furthermore, the track highlights the band’s ability to balance melody with aggression. Frontman Steven Rawles explains that “Crimson” reflects feelings of disillusionment and isolation in today’s world. As a result, the song connects personal struggle with a broader social mood.
A desperate feeling of loneliness. You know that things aren’t right in the world, yet the voices of media, government and sycophants supporting them tells you the opposite. Terrible injustices pile up in front of your eyes, but these visualizations become a sea of echoes that are loud and disorientating. You’re not alone.
Belvedere formed over 30 years ago and quickly built a name for blending speed, precision, and melody. They pair technical intensity with thoughtful songwriting. With Seven Years of Bad Luck, they continue that legacy while exploring new ground. Moreover, the album thrives on contrast. It moves between melody and dissonance, sadness and hope, clarity and mystery. As a result, the record reflects both their roots and their drive to keep evolving.
In recent years, the band has toured relentlessly across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. They have reconnected with longtime fans while also drawing in new listeners. Additionally, their live energy remains a defining force. In April 2026, Belvedere will tour across Canada with Strung Out. Furthermore, they will return to Europe in June and July. They will share stages with Authority Zero, MakeWar, The Corps, and others.
The band co-produced the album with Casey Lewis and Steven Rawles. They recorded it at Echo Base Studio. Lewis also handled mixing and mastering. Moreover, Seb Theriault created the album artwork, while Dominic Gendron handled photography.
With Seven Years of Bad Luck, Belvedere prove that time sharpens their edge rather than dulls it. They continue to challenge themselves. They also push listeners to expect more.
Stream “Crimson” now and stay tuned for Seven Years of Bad Luck, arriving June 19 via Thousand Islands Records.
