Mr. Dinkles drop “Letter To Elon,” using dark humor and lo-fi punk to critique tech power, burnout, and disconnection ahead of their EP, R.I.P.T..
The LA/Seattle duo Mr. Dinkles return with a new single, “Letter To Elon.” The track doesn’t center on Elon Musk. Instead, it uses the idea of him to question what happens when power and technology start to replace real human connection.

“Letter to Elon” is less about Elon himself, but humanity. Emphasizing choosing love and compassion over power and technology.
Moreover, the song builds on themes the band has explored before. It follows earlier releases “IDRW” and “Eat Chips and Talk Shit,” and pushes their perspective even further. The single also sets the tone for their upcoming EP, R.I.P.T., which arrives June 5 via Futureless.
In this project, Mr. Dinkles channel the present moment through a 20-something lens. They capture a generation that stays online, stays aware, and rarely gets a break from either. Furthermore, they mix dark humor with emotional fatigue. The result feels sharp, but never detached.
Additionally, the duo resist easy labels. You could call them a “power-punk” act, but that only scratches the surface. Their sound pulls from post-grunge and garage rock, then strips it down with a lo-fi edge. At the same time, they let melody cut through. At moments, their delivery softens, echoing the raw honesty often associated with Neil Young—without losing their bite.
Mr. Dinkles will hit the stage in the coming weeks with a short run of shows. They kick things off on May 1 in Los Angeles at Gold Diggers. Next, they head to East LA for a house show on May 22. Moreover, they return to Los Angeles on June 6 for a performance at Under The Bridge.
Stream “Letter To Elon” now, and stay tuned for Mr. Dinkles’ upcoming EP R.I.P.T. and future releases as the duo keeps building momentum.
