Six months since their last music project, IVE flips their switch on for the second EP, IVE SWITCH.
South Korean girl group IVE stirs up something different for this EP. IVE SWITCH showcases the group’s more mystical and charming side this time around, which is a treat for their fans. This is their second EP, the first one back in 2023 with the title I’VE MINE.
On April 29, in line with the comeback, the group issued a press release to promote the EP which will also launch on the same day.
Containing the press release, IVE shares with everyone that for this comeback, the concept is not just their “independent and confident” side of them, but also the charming, mystical sound.
Jang Wonyoung shares her thoughts on this comeback saying:
“A variety of new attempts were made in the production of the album to show off IVE’s multiple sides,”

Making of and other details
Jang Wonyoung gets the sole writing credit for the song “Blue Heart”.
She adds more details about the EP, specifically with the two lead tracks:
“In the case of the two lead tracks, the impactful ‘Heya’ is in a powerful hip-hop genre with lyrics that depict a fable, while ‘Accendio’ has a mysterious charm that casts a spell [on its listeners].”
Liz adds:
“Much like how the mood changes as a light switch goes on and off, we will stage two contrasting performances with the double lead tracks,”

IVE SWITCH tracklist
- 해야 (HEYA): The first of the two lead singles, a hip-hop dance track. It has a catchy and powerful chorus, and the lyrics of the song contain fable metaphors like the song itself is telling a story.
- Accendio: The second of the lead singles, an experimental beat. As the group already said, the listener will feel like they have been cast under a spell when this comes on. It’s got that magic and mysterious vibe that fits the lyrics of the song great.
- Blue Heart: This song has that pop-electro vibe to it. The song describes skepticism about loving again. The lyrics state that they cannot be easily convinced when it comes to opening the heart once more.
- Ice Queen: IVE is using literature metaphors once again for this one. The song tells the story of someone having a cold aura or personality.
- WOW: Another dance track from the EP; this one has that upbeat and energetic feel that IVE is known for. The song has that cute vibe to it.
- RESET: The song has a simple but still effective beat to it. It is a short and sweet track that consists of IVE rapping most of the duration. This is a great way to finish the EP.
