XG - THE CORE – 核

XG returns with their first full-length album, THE CORE – 核, a 10-track record that candidly reflects the group’s bold and distinctive identity.

XG (now known as Xtraordinary Genes) has finally dropped their highly anticipated full-length album, THE CORE – 核, on January 23. It also came with the music video premiere of their title track, “HYPNOTIZE.” The grand release came after months of sneak peeks, milestones, and even a career-defining evolution for the group.

THE CORE – 核 serves as a reflection of XG’s essence, a bold statement that surpasses short-lived trends. The album contains 10 songs, including the pre-released tracks “GALA” and “4 SEASONS.” Each track flows smoothly into the next, offering a deeper look into the group’s artistic identity.

Behind the Track: “HYPNOTIZE”

As the title track of their first full-length album, “HYPNOTIZE” leaves a lasting impression with its hypnotizing techno-house sound. The rhythmic piano lines add another addictive layer, raising the energy to its maximum. In a way only XG themselves can pull off, it pulls you out of reality and into their own world.

Another thing XG does really well is their music videos, and the one for this track did not disappoint. The deep-sea imagery mirrors their pursuit of the unknown and the hidden qualities they have yet to discover about themselves. It perfectly brings to life the one-of-a-kind world the seven-member group has created through their songs — their core.

It’s XG’s World, and We’re Living in It

XG continues to soar to great heights, and their 2026 is off to the best start with their album release. Just recently, the group performed “HYPNOTIZE” for the first time on the hit Korean music show Music Bank. They also became the ambassadors for the FIFA World Cup Japan, showcasing their influence both locally and globally.

THE CORE – 核 also released at a momentous time for the group as it follows their evolution from “Xtraordinary Girls” to “Xtraordinary Genes.” This name change didn’t come from a spontaneous decision; it stemmed from the members’ continued growth and collective discussions.

Last December, main rapper COCONA welcomed their 20s with an evolution of their own after coming out as AFAB transmasculine non-binary on their birthday. Their brave vulnerability became one of the group’s reasons to reflect on their identities, opting for a name that better resonates with them as a whole.

XG kicked off their second world tour, XG WORLD TOUR: THE CORE, with a three-day concert at K-Arena Yokohama from February 6 to 8. They will continue to perform across Japan until April, then venture to other Asian countries and continents in the coming months. These successive milestones place them at the forefront of their own universe, establishing new trends and standards along the way.

Be a part of their world by listening to their first full-length album, THE CORE – 核 — out now on all major streaming platforms.
