Last July 25 and 26, Wilbert Ross made history after back-to-back sold-out shows for his very first major solo concert, WRten By at the New Frontier Theater. Across two unforgettable nights, he delivered powerful and heartfelt performances that showcased his music, star power, and evolution as an artist.
This major milestone proved that Wilbert Ross has the ability to command the local music scene with his musicality, wit, and undeniable stage presence. The overwhelming demand was evident as tickets sold out in just 15 minutes, prompting VAA Live to immediately add an encore show to accommodate thousands of fans eager to witness the memorable nights.
More than just a concert, WRten By served as a live story book of Wilbert’s journey. It celebrated his humble beginnings as an aspiring singer, recalling his early days in the industry, and highlighting challenges he overcame along the way. What began as a dream of staging his own solo concert ultimately became an ever greater achievement, having two consecutive sold-out nights to mark his decade-long journey.
The Start of a Milestone
Opening the historic weekend, Wilbert delivers high-energy and massive-stage production performances of his original tracks, paying tribute to the path that shaped his career. Adding even more excitement to the celebration, a lineup of special guests elevated both evenings with unforgettable collaborations.
On Day 1, Earl Agustin joined Wilbert for a duet of “Let It Be” before performing Earl’s hit single “Dalangin.” After that, Mika Salamanca shared the stage with him for a heartfelt performance of “Handa Ako.” To add more kilig all over NFT, his onscreen partner, Bea Binene, has also joined him on stage for a nostalgic rendition of “Urong Sulong.”
Day 2 featured equally remarkable collaborations. The King of Soul Janno Gibbs, joined Wilbert for a cross-generational duet. He also teamed up with OPM star Ronnie Liang to serenade the audience with a rendition of the classic love song “Ngiti.” One of the evening’s emotional moments came with a surprise appearance from the Unkabogable Star, Vice Ganda, who played a significant role in launching Wilbert’s career. Together, they delivered a touching performance of SB19’s “MAPA,” leaving many fans emotional.
Lastly, adding an explosive wave of brotherhood to the celebration, the concert also featured a much-awaited Hashtags reunion. Wilbert reunited with his former group mates Jameson Blake, Nikko Natividad, Zeus Collins, Jimboy Martin, Kid Yambao, Maru Delgado, Luke Conde, Ryle Santiago, Jon Lucas, Tom Doromal, and Paulo Angeles as they shared the stage once again and celebrated the roots that brought them together.
