Get ready for a thrilling ride as Wendy is out for a comeback like no other next month!

Wendy of Red Velvet fame will be making her comeback this March 12 with the second mini-album, Wish You Hell. This will be her most recent release after Like Water, her solo debut back in 2021.

The teaser leaves a lot to the imagination, showing what appears to be a classroom-like setting. It focuses on a group of small chairs along with a blackboard with a diagram of a heart. To complete the scene, a portrait with the words “Be You” is placed above the blackboard.

What could Wendy have in store for us?

Like Water was a debut that painted a more tranquil picture. Meanwhile, Wish You Hell, judging from the title and teaser, might prove to be an exciting tonal shift for Wendy. This could be a sign that the songstress will temporarily be moving away from her signature ballads. Instead, she just might surprise us with something more raw and in-your-face.

Wendy is best known for being Red Velvet’s vocal powerhouse, hitting all the high notes of their songs without fail. Aside from being a Red Velvet member, she has also collaborated with both Korean and international music stars such as Eric Nam, Ricky Martin, and John Legend. It would be interesting to see if collaborations to that extent will be present in Wish You Hell!

No better time to be a Red Velvet fan than now!

Red Velvet made their debut back in 2014 as a quartet. With the release of the song Ice Cream Cake in 2015, they added a fifth member, Yeri, and the group has been a 5-woman ensemble since.

Now nearly a decade in the industry, the group continues to wow their fans with their inventive concepts and addictive songs. Truly a group like no other, Red Velvet embraces duality in the form of their “Red” and “Velvet” themes that they alternately personify in their comebacks.

The 2020s have brought about a surprising new era for Red Velvet, giving the members more freedom of expression in the form of spin-off projects. Fellow member Joy has released her own EP as well, titled Hello, while Irene and Seulgi formed a sub-unit back in 2020.
