The Script released “The Crowd Was Singing Wonderwall” ahead of their new album and highly anticipated 2027 Southeast Asia tour, led by three Manila shows.
Irish rock band The Script have released their latest single, “The Crowd Was Singing Wonderwall,” available now after its July 10, 2026 release. The song serves as the newest preview of their upcoming album, The User’s Guide to Being Human, which arrives on August 14, 2026.
The emotional anthem explores friendship, forgiveness, and the power of reconnecting after years apart. Inspired by the atmosphere surrounding Oasis’ Live ‘25 reunion tour, the song imagines old friends meeting again decades after a falling out. It captures the hope that even long-broken relationships can find healing.

The Script blend soaring rock melodies with massive singalong choruses throughout the track. As a result, “The Crowd Was Singing Wonderwall” delivers an uplifting message that feels equally personal and stadium-ready.
Frontman Danny O’Donoghue revealed that Oasis’ reunion inspired the song’s central theme. He believes the Gallagher brothers’ reconciliation encouraged many people to rethink broken relationships in their own lives. Danny said:
I’m a huge Oasis fan. Always have been. The Gallaghers reuniting put into the zeitgeist the idea that forgiveness is cool again. If two of the most notorious people for being at loggerheads can overcome their differences, anything’s possible.
Moreover, the single continues The Script’s new creative chapter following the loss of founding guitarist Mark Sheehan in 2023. Danny reunited with longtime collaborators Andrew Frampton, Steve Kipner, and Jimbo Barry to create the band’s seventh studio album. They previously produced fan favorites such as “Hall of Fame,” “Breakeven,” and “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.”
“The title is what this album is about,” Danny explained. “If you need something to remind you of the spectrum of feelings and emotions that make you feel human, this is it.”
The Script Build on Massive Success Across Southeast Asia
The new single also arrives as The Script prepare for their highly anticipated return to Southeast Asia in March 2027. The upcoming tour follows the overwhelming success of their sold-out Satellites tour in 2025, when fans packed venues across Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand.

The band’s popularity remains especially strong in the Philippines. Fans quickly sold out their Manila concerts scheduled for March 18 and March 19, 2027, at the Mall of Asia Arena. Because of the overwhelming demand, organizers added a third Manila show on March 20, giving Filipino fans another opportunity to see the band live.
After Manila, The Script will perform at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on March 31. Furthermore, they will continue the tour with a stop in Jakarta, Indonesia, on April 3, with the venue to be announced.
A New Era Begins
With “The Crowd Was Singing Wonderwall,” The Script embrace themes of reconciliation, hope, and second chances. At the same time, they look ahead to the release of The User’s Guide to Being Human, an album shaped by loss, resilience, and renewal.
As excitement continues to grow across Asia, the band’s upcoming concerts promise to be among the region’s biggest rock events of 2027. Their return also reflects the lasting connection they have built with fans, who continue to make Southeast Asia one of The Script’s strongest and most passionate markets.
