English quartet PREP releases their new track “Do What You Gotta” featuring Taiwanese band Sunset Rollercoaster.
PREP‘s “Do What You Gotta” is a preview of their upcoming EP “One Day in the Sun” that’s set to come out on March 20. The EP comes in vinyl and now available for pre-order on the band’s official website.
Their latest release starts off as funk floorfiller. With elements of jazz, pop and soul, it then becomes reminiscent of beginnings and attempts to find love.

The London-based indie pop band is composed of Tom Havelock (vocals), Llywelyn ap Myrddin (keyboard), Guillaume Jambel (drums), and Dan Radclyffe (guitar). Since forming in 2015, the four-piece has established their signature sound that drew influences from the British, American and Japanese music scenes.
Aside from Japanese City Pop genre, East Asia is special to the group because that’s where Sunset Rollercoaster is based. ap Myrddin described the Taiwanese quintet as “the one other band in the world closest to us” that’s based in the region.
Havelock also spoke fondly of their collaborators. He shared how their bands almost completed a song together in London years ago. Then in 2024, they went to Taipei and performed with Kuo, Sunset Rollercoaster’s vocalist.

After that performance, they proceeded to the Taiwanese band’s studio. They spent the night playing and discussing together.
Havelock further expressed how eager they are to perform the song with their Asian peers.

The English band’s connection with the East doesn’t end there. Southeast Asia also means a lot to them because of their active fan-base in the region.
In 2024, PREP had sold-out shows in Manila, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. Many of their listeners are also from Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines.
