Natalie Shay tackles betrayal in her new single “sorry for u” ahead of the EP ATMOSPHERE, capturing the pain of someone who changes and avoids accountability.
Rising indie-pop artist Natalie Shay drops “sorry for u,” one of the standout tracks from her highly anticipated EP ATMOSPHERE. The track captures the frustration of being let down by someone who once had her love and trust.

Moreover, she teamed up with RNDMBEATS (Wes Nelson) and Call Me Loop to shape a defiant indie-pop anthem. Natalie says,
I absolutely hate it when someone close to you switches up and sabotages, and rather than take accountability, they either Irish goodbye or convince themselves that things were the other way around to cope with the fact they’ve lost you. That’s what this song is about.

What to Expect from the ATMOSPHERE EP
ATMOSPHERE captures the emotional highs and lows of love, self-discovery, and everything in between. Natalie Shay frames it as a sonic diary, reflecting the thrill of new love often intertwined with trauma bonds. The title track, “atmosphere,” co-written with longtime collaborator and friend Kaity Rae (Remember Monday, The Shires), questions whether a powerful connection is true love or just fleeting chemistry.
Created over two years of collaborations and late-night solo sessions, the EP gathers songs she couldn’t let go of. Each track serves as a personal confession and doubles as therapy when performed live, revealing chapters that reflect her life since the last release. Natalie adds,
I bookend eras of my life with bodies of work, so it was important to me that ATMOSPHERE contained all the experiences and lessons since my last EP. I want my music to be the soundtrack to my life as a mid-twenties creative who feels everything deeply. I crave love, but I’ve also been damaged by it.
