MACY "Please Keep Talking"

Rising pop artist MACY drops her new single “Please Keep Talking,” a tongue-in-cheek pop anthem about being trapped in an awkward conversation.

South Wales pop artist MACY returns with her new single, “Please Keep Talking.” This time, she leans fully into her playful and self-aware side. The track turns the awkwardness of being stuck in an uncomfortable conversation into a witty, tongue-in-cheek pop anthem.

At the same time, “Please Keep Talking” mixes humour with honest, everyday moments. MACY’s bright vocals glide over glossy, high-energy production inspired by Jessie J, Dua Lipa, and Olivia Dean, keeping the song light, bold, and engaging.

The single came together with co-writer Owain Felstead and chart-topping, award-winning producer Zak Lloyd at Birchwood Recording Studio in Newport. Lloyd brings serious pop credentials. His work includes the Taylor Swift Reputation Tour, collaborations with Calum Scott, Wonho, The Stickmen, Charli XCX, and Keane, plus major TV shows like America’s Got Talent and The Voice.

Because of that experience, the track sounds clean, bold, and arena-ready. The polished production also sharpens her songwriting and highlights her confidence. Overall, the song feels fun, assured, and instantly catchy. It marks another strong step forward for MACY.

Pop Artist on the Rise

MACY is known for bright, feel-good pop with clear storytelling and upbeat energy. She writes and records much of her music from her bedroom. She first gained attention with her debut single, “Cinema,” in 2020. Since then, she has shaped a bold and confident sound through two EPs and a growing list of releases.

She comes from Blaenau Gwent, where pop music often has little industry support. Still, MACY pushed forward with hard work and focus. Rather than waiting for chances, she built her own path. At the same time, she gives back to her community. She often visits schools and local spaces to inspire young creatives to try music and self-expression.

Even in her mid-twenties, MACY has built strong momentum. She has earned several BBC Radio Wales A-List plays and recently appeared on BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show. Her live shows have also taken her to big stages.

These include the BAFTA Cymru Awards, the Principality Stadium for 50,000 people, Focus Wales, 110 Above Festival, Swansea Fringe, and the M For Montreal Festival in 2024.

Beyond the stage, MACY keeps growing her creative work. She curated her own Cardiff mini-festival, PLANET POP. She also appeared on ITV’s BackStage and performed with Emeli Sandé on the Scott Quinnell Christmas Show.

With support from BBC Introducing, PRS Foundation, Horizons, Youth Music, and Help Musicians, MACY continues to rise as one of Wales’ most exciting pop artists.
