Laufey unveils “How I Get” ahead of the release of the deluxe edition of the Grammy-winning album A Matter Of Time: The Final Hour, out April 10.
Laufey, the two-time GRAMMY®-winning, LA-based artist, composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, has announced A Matter of Time: The Final Hour, the deluxe edition of her GRAMMY®-winning album A Matter of Time. The expanded release arrives on April 10 via AWAL/Vingolf Recordings and adds four new tracks, led by her new single, “How I Get.”

Laufey explains that “How I Get” explores the contrast between being disciplined, grounded, and in control in every part of her life—except when it comes to one person.
It explores that unsettling shift where I suddenly find myself chasing the rush and justifying behavior I swore I’d never fall into, because with them, that’s just how I get.
A Matter Of Time: The Final Hour
Produced with longtime collaborator Spencer Stewart and GRAMMY® winner Aaron Dessner—known for his work with Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran—A Matter of Time: The Final Hour marks a clear emotional shift for Laufey. On this project, she leans into anxiety and vulnerability. She also explores what real love looks like in its many forms. The deluxe edition adds four previously unreleased tracks to the album’s original fifteen.
Earlier this month, Laufey won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the Grammy Awards for A Matter of Time. The victory marked her second Grammy win. She first took home the award in 2024 for Bewitched, becoming the youngest artist to receive the honor.
Since its release last August, the album has received strong acclaim. It debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. It also reached No. 1 on the Jazz Albums chart, where it continues to hold a top 10 position. Then in January, Iceland honored Laufey with the Order of the Falcon. Halla Tómasdóttir presented the award in recognition of her global impact.
