KRYSTAL continues her solo era with “PWLT,” a soulful R&B single blending classic influences and modern pop ahead of her debut solo album.
Global pop and fashion icon KRYSTAL returns with “PWLT,” a sophisticated new R&B single that continues the rollout of her long-awaited solo era. The release arrives alongside an official music video, now available on her YouTube channel.
Following her comeback single “Solitary” in November 2025, “PWLT” offers another glimpse into KRYSTAL’s upcoming debut solo album. The track blends Korean pop with elements of ‘80s and ‘90s soul, boogie, and contemporary alternative R&B. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Sade and Janet Jackson, the song delivers a warm and timeless sound while showcasing KRYSTAL’s evolving artistry.
Built around a smooth R&B groove, “PWLT” takes its name from the phrase “People Want to Live Together.” As a result, the song explores themes of connection, belonging, and the importance of human relationships. Through its uplifting message and polished production, KRYSTAL presents a more mature and personal side of her musical identity.
To bring the track to life, KRYSTAL collaborated with a remarkable lineup of Asian musicians. Acclaimed Taiwanese guitarist Kuo-Hung Tseng, better known as Kuo of Sunset Rollercoaster, contributes expressive guitar work throughout the song. Furthermore, Oh Hyuk, the frontman of Korean indie band HYUKOH, adds rich synthesizer textures that enhance the record’s nostalgic atmosphere.
In addition, legendary American producer and songwriter Steve Lindsey wrote and produced “PWLT.” Throughout his career, Lindsey has worked with artists including Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Alexander O’Neal, and Chaka Khan. He is also widely recognized for discovering Bruno Mars. His involvement further strengthens the song’s connection to the soul, funk, and boogie traditions that inspired the project.
The accompanying music video expands on the track’s themes through elegant visuals and understated storytelling. The song and video introduce listeners to the creative direction shaping KRYSTAL’s upcoming album.
With “PWLT” and “Solitary,” KRYSTAL embraces a bold new chapter as a solo artist. After helping redefine K-pop as a member of f(x), she now steps forward with a clear artistic vision and a refined sound that bridges classic influences with contemporary pop.
KRYSTAL invites fans to stream her soulful new single “PWLT,” a warm blend of R&B, soul, and pop that previews her highly anticipated debut solo album.
