“Blood Shark” Turns Turbulence Into Momentum
Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Gallop at Stage 2 Studios in Bath, “Blood Shark” launches headfirst into thick guitar fuzz. From the opening beat to the final note, racing drums and shifting textures crash into massive choruses. Additionally, Oli Rainsford’s raspy vocals cut through the chaos, giving shape to themes of frustration, restlessness, and emotional stagnation.
Lyrically, Rainsford frames the song as a jolt of self-confrontation. He describes “Blood Shark” as a challenge to complacency. Aimed at the excuses that stop people from acting on their desires. While moments of doubt and pressure feel unavoidable, the song argues that change often begins by stepping back.

At its core, the “Blood Shark” becomes a dark metaphor for a life left unlived. Furthermore, it represents the consequences of hesitation and abandoned ambition. Lurking as a reminder of what happens when dreams go unfollowed. Additionally, the message resists despair, urging listeners to fight back and reclaim momentum before it’s too late.
Moreover, the track also allows room for playful lyricism despite its aggressive sound. Rainsford weaves in clever wordplay and evolutionary imagery to stress the need for constant growth and risk-taking. “Blood Shark” appears on Krooked Tongue’s upcoming debut album I Know A Place. Due out on April 24, a release the band hopes fans will carry with them for years to come.
