Life is a game, and it’s your turn to roll the dice as Karanoah levels up with her new single, “Sugoroku.”

Karanoah returns with “Sugoroku,” their latest digital single, following the buzz from TV anime tie-in ending theme, BAN 番.

The song redefines their band identity, is a fast-paced drum’n’bass ride full of complex layers, off-kilter guitar riffs, and tight beats. It propels listeners ahead like rolling dice, echoing the song’s title, which fittingly translates to “board game.”

Yudai, vocalist and guitarist, explains

Sometimes life is messy, chaotic, and unrelenting — but even when we’re battered, we keep rolling the dice, moving forward. ‘Sugoroku’ is my messy, raw reflection of hope, resilience, and finding light in the chaos.

Like the song itself, the single’s cover art, created by Nico Ito, reflects this idea with vibrant “Sugoroku” game elements. I strike a balance between joyful pop energy and a hint of retro sorrow.

Following Karanoah’s rise in 2025, “Sugoroku” builds on hits like “rei đüge” and EP Neon Tetra ネオンテトラ. This EP also featured the drama theme song “aquarium.” They have rapidly established themselves as one of Japan’s most intriguing next-generation rock bands. Their genre-defying sound, which combines rock, pop, and alternative textures.

Karanoah brings this enthusiasm to the stage in addition to controlling the studio. See them in person at:
